Audiofile, aka "Chris", Audiofile Speakers ripoff "I let them rip me off!" fraud business uses what you don't know against you Castle Rock Colorado
Two guys pull up in a midnight blue Dodge minivan while I was at a gas pump. They asked if I they could sell these speakers to me because they were on their way to a "job" and needed to get rid of these speakers so their boss wouldn't "take" them.
I said, "no, not interested". Then they insisted that I look at them. So I did. He wanted $250 a piece for them. I said, "no way, i don't have that kind of money!" He says, "Alright, um... how much money do you have?" I say, "I think I got about $250 in my account" He says, "Ok, how about $300 for both of them" (2 speakers). I still say, "I've never even heard of that brand name of speaker -- audiofile!?"
Then the SOB pulls out a magazine, turns to a page with AudioFile speakers -- the same brand and model number -- and it has a price of $649 each. I say "OK, $300 for both of them, I'll but 'em"
He grabs two speakers, puts them in my car, asks if he could ride with me to make sure I don't drive off with them and I let him. The other follows in the minivan to the bank. I give them $300 and they were gone.
