Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently went to buy a house and learned there was a negative entry on my credit report. I couldn't believe it because I have always paid my bills and never got any letters stating I had debts to anyone.

So luckily I am still able to purchase but just have minor fees (which are not right) because of the derogatory claim. The lawyer's office holds out the amount of the debt to settle it and much to my surprise they are unable to.

I just didn't want to be bothered with it, so I didn't mind them paying the debt, by the way was only $97, but when I was told they couldn't pay it because the company was giving them the run around I was concerned.

I decided to look into it and see what exactly was going on. I called and a rep told me that the account was from a hospital back where I was originally from. I found this hard to believe because I was a military dependant and had insurance. So I called the hospital direct and learned it was from 1997. I was only 14 years old at the time and the only reason there was money owed was because my mom didn't show proof of my insurance. They then informed me that it should have never been placed on my report because I was not the responsible party for the debt. It clearly showed my mother as the responsible party on the worksheet.

After this I was furious. I contacted TransUnion with the information I had received and 2 weeks later, receive a letter stating that they could not change it. This was so unfair. I have always taken care of my bills and then this. My mom is so upset that she could have prevented this. The $97 fee is for her not showing my insurance card. They had to do a little extra work and pull up my records so they charge for it. Insurance paid everything but the fee and now I am stuck with this!

CBCS has been no help. They tell me to fax the info to them but nothing changes. I am fed up.

Natira the Collector, just another new one of many

Natira, I can see that you just appeared out of nowhere and have posted on nearly every collection agency thread. Therefore, I can see that you are the new collector on the block, all gung h*o and will be gone in a few days or weeks just like all of the rest. But tell me, what first brought you to Rip Off Report? Did you want to see how many complaints were out there on the agency you just started working for? Or did you want to just see what you can get away with? Either way, you fit right in. Just another illiterate crackhead collector, trying to appear intelligent. You have failed.

Natria I'm not sure how uninformed you are on any other subjects but minors CAN NOT incur debt in any state ever. That's why you have to be 18 to open a credit card, 18 to vote, any of this starting to sound familiar? You are so off base with your analogy I am out of breath from laughing at it. Debt doesn't follow us from our parents it's not the medieval times. All the person has to do is show proof of age to the credit bureaus and CBCS that she was a minor at the time the bill was in her name for insurance billing purposes only. The whole point of being a minor is because someone else is responsible for your care until the age of 18. The insurance can retroactive fix the billing if the people involved contact them and make them fix the problem. Natria please for all of our sake PROOF READ YOUR RESPONSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good god are you illiterate or just don't know about spell check??????? I fixed it for you what a mess. because you are no longer a minor no matter if the bal was 1400 or 97 dollars somebody didn't get paid that's just like your job saying we where just starting out so we don't have to pay you I'm not being rude but look at logic anyway you have to pay the bal you know about it was your mothers responsibility but now it is yours the power is in your hands CBCS isn't to blame nor any other collection agy they are hired by the places that have the original bills you need to blame the book keeper at the hospital you received treatment if the person was mean to you at the collection agy then that's something to talk about but not the bill its self if there is missing info than peruse it because this 97 will eat your credit up Natira - Columbus, Ohio U.S.A.

Motivate The Hospital

The hospital is solely responsible for placing the derogatory on your credit report. Contact the hospital customer service manager and demand that it be removed immediately. Remind them that damages may be incurred if they do not. Whatever you do don't pay the $97. The derogatory will REMAIN on your credit report even if you pay. If all else fails it should be ready to drop off your cerdit report after the 7 year limit expires. I'm surprised it's still showing if it was entered in 1997. Make sure that CBCS didn't play any illegal games and redate it.
