The posting on your site by Matt in Schenectady, NY was discovered yesterday, 11/01/04, by an employee and brought to my attention. I researched the situation and the facts are that Matt was recruited and completed a single job at a customer site, on 6/17/03, on behalf of CC&T. He billed us for his work on 7/10/03. He was paid on 8/07/03, the full amount, that he had billed, according to the terms of his written agreement with CC&T. CC&T maintains a high standard for performance and as a result has been in business since 1985. We have a blue chip customer base, a loyal and satisfied network of independent technicians. We enjoy a sound D&B rating and maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Having just now seen this report from Matt in Schenectady, I wish I could have rebutted much earlier. I work as a scheduler with CC&T. We always very clearly state what we are and are not covering for each specific contract. We do cover travel and compensate for things like toll fees or cell phone minutes, but not on every contract. As a 1099, it is your responsibility to make sure all your needs are met. We do our best to stand by our 1099s. Regarding "doing your own paperwork" - to my mind this is part of being an indpendent contractor. In addition, the documentation required was stated at the beginning of the contract. If Matt was not comfortable filling out a form (in this case a completion report and an invoice), he should have said so at the start. Matt was disqualified from our system due to no shows onsite: meaning he confirmed he would be onsite, and then did not show. This behavoir renders any contract between Matt and CC&T void, as clearly stated in an agreement he signed before being scheduled for any contracts. I cannot speak to this specific instance - I was not the scheduler with this project in 2003. I am, however, more than willing to speak with anyone who has concerns about CC&T, and can pass along references of 1099 technicians who have had very positice experiences with us and, yes, do get paid.
