After a long conversation with the young owner of the CDL Training Center of Ogden Brandon Olsen. I was a told that the class size of the school was 2 students to one instructor and that on rare occasions that 3 max was the limit. That turn out to not be true because in the classed I attend there was most of the time 4 students and rarely 3 like I was told.

I was also told that they had a paved parking facility that they used to practice on. It turned out to be a side street at the Ogden Business Depot or The BDO as the CDL Center calls it. My concern for the learning practices was that if I got into an accident would that go on my record. When I asked the instructor whos record would the accident go on his reply was the students. So the responsibility of safe driving and practices fall on the student. I think the responsibility of safe teaching falls on the school and the instructor.

That is poor business practice to put your new student drivers at an elevated risk. The instructor had us practicing in the middle of the road, while other trucks were waved around to pass us. We even backed around corners in to traffic. The instructor did even use safety markers on which they teach in the free book that you get from the DMV.

The boast about what sets them apart from every other CDL School is the same as another website I found www.cdltrainingcenters.com is the same a www.cdltrainingcenter.net word for word.

Why we're different?

* Pre-Screening Acceptance Standards We strive to team with counselors on identifying those students most likely employable as per industry standards after graduation.

* Job Pre-placement -Employment opportunities are often acquired for students even before training has been completed!

* Corporate Alliances - Our multiple relationships with local and national trucking companies ensures a quality job placement for the student after graduation.

* Lifetime Job Placement- Students who leave initial job placements may revisit our Placement Office on an unlimited basis at no additional charge for other job oppotunities.

* Lifetime Refresher Courses - Whereas some companies charge by the hour or the week to train past the course deadline, we train students for Free!

The Training Program

* CLASSES START EVERY MONDAY!

* 4-Weeks of intensive CDL classroom and driver training

* Day or Evening Courses Available

* Road Driving & Backing Skills Training Pre-Trip Safety inspection Training and Testing

* Third-Party Testing to Acquire the CDL license

It seems that they will only Honor that if your OK with there less than adequate training. Because once you ask, question or say anything about what is going on at there school you become a threat to them and they have told me that they called the police and have got a restraining order on me. I called the police and spoke with the records department and they have not received a call as of yet.

I believe that this schools tactics are to convince prospective students that they will bend over backwards to work with you and help you. They will tell you all the wonderful things about the school and there training. Until you enrolled and they got the money. Then every thing changes and does not match anything they said or advertised.

BEWARE and know that if you have received a CDL from this Third Party examiner and you find your self questing some of the things that happened in your examination and didn't speak up because you were in a hurry to get your CDL. Realize this fact that with in 2 year from when your CDL examination was the state has the right to revoke your CDL and request you take a retest with them. So for 2 years you will have this over hang over your head regardless if during your test the examiner did every thing right.

So what could happen is you get your CDL revoked, the school my lose its only Third party examiner and go out of business. Then your left with a CDL certificate from a school that know longer exists, your CDL has been revoked and the money paid to the school gone.

It is difficult to speak up when you pass the test with flying colors and know you did every thing right but because of the things that the examiner did you could get your CDL revoked. But I would rather get it revoked tomorrow that have the press and stress knowing that any time I could be revoked in 2 years.

You also can't take advantage of Lifetime Refresher Courses for free if they go out of business.

Remember It is your responsibility to speak out and take charge of your training because once you get in a wreck or do something wrong or was not taught you can't just say I didn't know or they didn't teach me that. I believe no judge or jury would except that as an reasonable excuse for your liability.

This a compliant against the CDL Training Center of Ogden in an effort to get a responce and has in no way been intend for legal advice if you are having the same issues contact a lawyer who can help you and if you are low income and can not afford one, some states have law office who help the poor with legal advice if you qulifiy.

I have read this post and really feel that I need to comment against these false false accusations. I am pretty sure everyone can see that the person making these accusations is just a disgruntled person who is out to destroy one mans reputation and business. when it comes to being a business owner it is very hard work to juggle and balance business decisions and peoples happiness. If you are coming in and making demands that are unattainable and being completely unteasonable then you have to understand that you might leave dissatisfied. I don't understand how anyone who was funded on a grant can actually believe that they would get the money paid for their training could ever be a cash refund straight to their pocket?! In what dream world is this possible. For someone to take the time to try to tarnish a good man's reputation. I guess that shows you what kind of person we are dealing with here.

When it comes to Brandon Olsen I can attest first hand to the type of person he is. On a personal lever he has shown up for me on countless occasions. He has not only been a best friend to me.. He had been a brother to me through hard times to the fun times. I am blessed to have him in my life. On a professional level I can say he is an honest straight shooter with everyone's best interest in mind. He wants people to leave his school feeling confident and ready to work. His school offers more than hands on training and a personal investment in each and every student. The mere fact that after the student came on throwing the type of fit he threw it blows my mind that Brandon even dealt with him.. Hats off to Brandon for that he is a bigger man than I am for that. I don't take to threats or blackmail very well. I don't know anyone who does.

I will wrap up my testimony because I think I got my point across. I had no idea this slanderous report existed or I would have left my two cents a long time ago. If you are looking to get your CDL or you have any questions just come into the Ogden Office and see for yourself. You will find happy students and a happy staff . Come in and see for yourself 2041 Lincoln Abe. Ogden UT.

Thanks,

Joe

Dear Sir,

I've noticed by the over use of the first-person pronoun "I," that indicates that you really do not see much beyond yourself.

Operating a school is rough, operating a school on wheels is worse.

How many hours did you get behind the wheel?

How many times did you practice your backing moves?

How many weeks of schooling did you get, not calender time, YOUR attendence hour time? (we have records)

Trust me when I say, IF you had gone to England or swift, you would have received less, MUCH less.

I read that you were the victim, well, 100's of students a year, seem to go ahead a achieve productive careers in the Industry, what happened with you?

Zac

P.S. IF you had taken the time to READ your permit, it says (in Governmet Legalese) the YOU, the driver, are responsible for the "safe operation" of said vehicle, yes, your trainer SHOULD instruct and/or intervene when YOU do something dangerous, but it falls on YOU, the operator of the vehicle. By getting your permit, you have proven to the STATE (in which you reside) that you have the basic working knowledge of the safe operation that THAT vehicle. NOW, whether you, as a fear stricken student fails to understand the simple command, from your INSTRUCTOR, "STOP!!!!!!!" and you rear-end that bus of quad-amputee orphans and KILL them all!!!

It's ALL on you, bro!!!!

Happy Driving!

My name is Dave Butler, and I work as an instructor for CDL Training center in the West Valley City campus. I have been the instructor here since December of 2012. Prior to that I worked for Roadmaster as well as FFE's Driver academy, and consider myself to be a highly trained and recommended trucking instructor. Brandon Olsen is my employer as well as my direct supervisor. He is an honorable man whos integrity should never be challenged, and I would have words with anyone who says different.

As for the condition and safety of my equipment, I have maintained DOT standards and compliance since accepting this post, and my truck is not only safe, but a comfortable and relaxed learning environment. My students are well trained, safe and happy when completing the program.

Our course of study can be financed in a myriad of ways. Often times students can aquire thier CDL with no out of pocket expenses. We are also the only CDL center that offers training for additional license endorsements beyond Class A, Air brakes and combination vehicle. These are available at no extra cost.

So, in closing, I would like to say that CDL training center offers the highest quality training that can be had, our equipment is industry standard, our instructors are patient and supportive, and everything is fair and on the up and up.

Respectfully

D. Butler

I feel that everything this person has said on the internet about Brandon & the school is false accusations I am a former graduate of the school and I feel you are there to get the concept of driving a tractor-trailer you don't learn everything until you get out there driving. You are driving a 53 footer and have to be more careful and pay more attention than everyone out there driving. Everthing I learned at the school helped me to get an idea of what i was getting into. I love driving a big rig, but for now I have to sit back and watch them just go by until I can get out there again, but I still work with the school, sending clients to obtain there CDL License. Brandon goes out of his way to help any student to obtain his or her's CDL License.

Dennis attended CDL Training Center on a Government Funding program. All of his complaints are based on his failed attempt to get refunded Government money. CDL Training Center works with certain Government Agencies that will pay the tuition and not require them to pay it back. Dennis Stacey Graduated a satisfied customer. We offer Life Time refresher courses to our Graduates. Dennis came to the office two weeks after graduation on a Friday at 5pm and demanded drive time right then and there. My Instructor informed Dennis that he would have to be put on the schedule for Monday. This upset Dennis and he started throwing a fit demanding drive time right now because we offer life time refresher courses. Once again My Instuctor said,we absolutlely offer life time refresher however we will need to schedule you drive time. We do the schedules weekly and would be more than happy to put you on next weeks. After Dennis didn't get what he wanted he then called me a week later telling me that he wanted money refunded to him. I then told him that if any refunded were available it would be don't threw the Government agency that funded him. Dennis then said if you don't give me the money directly to me I will show a video of you testing me incorrectly. My response to that was go right ahead because we do every thing by the book here and I will not black mailed. I made all the calls to the Government agencies informing them of what was going on. They said no refund was needed and to consider this a closed case. We have resolved this issue threw the BBB aswell. http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/truck-driving-school/cdl-training-center-of-ogden-in-ogden-ut-22234258 After all of this I stilled called Dennis and offered what ever drive time and training he wants. CDL Training center would like everyone to have a possitive experience while attending school. We train studends untill they have proven to be safe out on the road. We do not charged any extra for addition time in the truck and honor all life time refresher courses. If anyone has any question about this please call me. Brandon Olsen Owner 8018569641
