Central Florida Investments - Westgate Resorts - David Siegel Lied to us about Getaway Weeks Gatlinburg Tennessee
My story is very similar to Sarahlou's. We were also told by the salesperson at Westgate Resorts in Gatlinburg, TN that we could sell our Getaway weeks and make a little money from our investment with Westgate. We did not purchase a timeshare unit, but they offered us 4 Getaway weeks and would hold the "low" price of a unit that we were interested in for 2 years if we purchased a week's stay at the Resort in TN. We thought that sounded like a good idea, it would give us 2 years to find out how easy or difficult it would be to sell the Getaway weeks. Well, just like Sarahlou, we found out that those weeks are not to be sold. That is the rules at Leisure Time Passport/Interval International. Of course, this information wasn't brought to our attention until 3 months after we signed at Westgate and our $200 deposit was paid because we didn't get info. from Interval until then. It is a sentence on page 10 of the Leisure Time Passport brochure.
I haves stopped payment to Westgate and I have contacted an attorney. They deceived us with these Getaway weeks and that is what prompted us to sign papers at Westgate. I have read those papers extensively and NOT ONE PAPER that we signed at Westgate says that Getaway weeks can't be sold. You are only made aware of that AFTER your 10 day cancellation period is over and you get the brochure from Leisure Time. If this isn't deception, I don't know what is!!
Would love to hear from anyone else out there who has been lied to about their Getaway Weeks!!

We just got back from visiting Orlando Fl. A rep talked to us at universal studios telling us we would get $75 in universal dollars and could be used anywhere at universal, islands of adv, and city walk. Sounded like a great idea bc we was going to Islands the next day. He told us that it would be no longer then 90 min, we proceeded to tell him we went to one the yr b4 and it was aweful and he assured us it wouldnt be this time, so we did it. We got there at 7am and we didnt see a rep til 9am. They kept telling us it was a great idea to do it and we kept telling them no they ended up having 4 diffrent ppl come talk to us and we kept saying no. I told the rep that i felt like i was being pressured and he said no ur not being pressured we are trying to help you. How can you not be pressured when u have 4 diffrent ppl throwing diffrent prices at you. We took the same deal as you!!!! It was 5 days ago we done this and now we are backing out esp all the stuff ive read. ive drawn up paper work saying im cancelling and we are getting it notorized and sending it to them 2marrow by certified mail....we only paid a $60 down payment so we might get it back we may not but i will never do another tour ever again. They should not be allowed to hassle ppl.

Well, everyone, my husband made a deal with the Westgate Corporate employees and they really did work with him. We didn't get out of anything, but we now are able to go to Myrtle Beach for an entire week and they upgraded our room. I guess the moral of the story is "never give up!"
