You got a strong case against them. This collection agency by reading this has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act for the following practices: Verbal abuse Harrassment Contacting third parties to ascertain your whereabouts (your relatives or work of employment, as was the case here) Bottom line is, you can SUE this collection agency for the aforementioned acts. Find out where their agency operates from, and if it is from a state other than South Carolina, then you have nothing to worry about; they can't sue you.
