A young man knocks on the door and rings the doorbell, he says he's in a "contest", the prize is a trip to Europe. He's talking fast and furious, trying to engage me in conversation.
The bottom line is he was selling subscriptions to magazines. So, being sympathetic, I agreed to buy a two year subscription to Budget Travel for $53.00. Then he gave me a little tag to put on my door to indicate I had already participated and other "contestants" wouldn't bother me.
I Googled the company and could only find Ripoff Reports and started to worry. Is it a legitimate company?

A 2 year subscription to Budget Travel right from their website is $20.00, you can get three years for $25.00. So even if his company actually delivers on their promise and sends you the magazines you have already been taken for $33.00.
The fast talking wide eyed kid selling magazines scam is so well known it is pretty much a cliche. You should not have fallen for it. Reading on this site and on the internet in general some of these unscrupulous companies start signing 'customers' up for a bunch of subscriptions and services they never asked for, and very often the magazines never arrive. Others keep the kids in nearly sweatshop working conditions.
Up to you, but if it were me I would challenge the charge with my credit card company and probably cancel the card to avoid further charges. But then i am not very trusting. Your mileage may vary. Good luck!
