I got behind on payments because of multiple medical problems with both myself and my significant other. In October 2004 I recieved a letter stating I was in danger of foreclosure and they returned my last payment. I called Chase Oct. 17, 04 and was told that I had NOT been turned over yet. I found a company who would re-finance my home and managed to collect 3 of the 4 payments I was behind. Oct 19th 2004 I called Chase and was told they would not take the payments and I would have to call thier lawyer because I was in foreclosure.

I called Reiner & Lorber Co. L.P.A. and was told they didn't know anything about me or my case and to call back in few days. I explained I had the money and I was told to call Chase. Again I called Chase and spoke to Celeste Easley and was told to call "the foreclosure lawyer". I spoke to several people at Chase including Ms. Easley, told they would "have to speak to a supervisor and would call me back" Chase never called back.

Oct 20,2004 I again called Reiner & Lorber and I was told that in now owed 5k! in 24hrs I went from owing apox 2k ( which I had in hand) to 5K! I was told by Gretchen at Reiner & Lorber she could not accept any thing less and I had better come up with the balance.

I continued into November to try to pay Chase, even the Cory at City View Mortgage the company that was going to re-fi, called Chase. They have been extremly rude and uncooporative not answering my questions or refusing me information.

Late Novemeber I hired United Foreclosure Managers for 1k to stop the foreclosure. This was a mistake, they didn't help at all and I'm out the money I could have paid to Chase.

Chase is still being difficult to deal with and I'm going to lose my home. I could have paid off Chase in October but the re-fi company has backed out. As of June 2005 I now owe over 11k in back payments, fees, & penalties! I never even recieved a letter from Chase until after they started foreclosure and the one I recived was dated AFTER I called the fist time. That letter was dated Oct 28!

July 25 I called Chase again to see what I could do to save my home. I spoke to Alberta Mensah and was told because I couldn't give her and exact amount of the money I had saved to pay Chase they would close my file untill I could give and figure. Aug 4 I recieved a letter that I was "denied a workout option because of insufficent information"

All this could have been avoided if Chase had accepted the backpayments in Oct and I would have been able to refinance and never deal with Chase Manhattan again. But now I'm about to lose my home because they are rude and uncooporative. I am currently looking into filing a law suit against Chase for negligence.
