If your company believes that what you provide is customer service, then you have all the qualifications for a job in Washington, DC, where fantasy is a way of life.
Below is an e-mail I sent to Representative Sara, a Choice Hotel Representative, after my discussion with her on August 8, 2010. From then till now I have heard nothing from anyone - not a surprise - just the way business is too often done these days.
Enclosed is my membership card. It dirties my house to have it around. I am so thankful I never got your charge card, which I did consider at one time.
In light of this incident, and the over 100 similar complaints I have found on the internet about accommodations in your choice hotel chains, I vow to never again make a reservation with your company.
E-Mail to Sara
On August 8, 2010 I spoke with you about my nightmare room at Rodeway Inn at Kittanning, PA. At your request I sent you pictures of what I and my wife encountered there, You indicated that Rodeway would be contacted and they had three (3) days to contact me regarding this matter. Maybe your days there are longer than mine here, but according to my calculations it has been eighteen (38) days and I have heard nothing more from you or the Rodeway Inn at Kittanning. Somehow this does not surprise me as I see making reservations at that motel are still possible through your reservation system which is a total disgrace and a clear indication that Choice Hotels cares not one bit for their customers - which I will never be again.
Fortunately the day after this incident my wife and I attended a class reunion with over one hundred friends where the accommodation you people promote, and in fact reward was a topic of conversation which has prompted an e-mail campaign that grows by leaps and bounds.
It is my opinion that a company, such as yours, has no place in an industry where people spend hard earned money on what they expect to be a nice vacation, or trip that can be totally ruined by what we encountered.
In conclusion I send you my membership card, along with best wishes for total bankruptcy in the near future. My advice would be that  nobody, now or ever, use Choice Hotel reservation services.
