I have had a lease from Chryler Financial for 10 years, now that they have decided not to lease or re-lease their vehicles I have been getting totally harrassing phone calls...my lease was for 36 months this time and I only have 3 more payments

I receive numerous calls a day for my payment being late (I guess we are in a recession but they are not and they don't care) I am totally belittled by their callers, insulting me on "well if you can't afford the payment maybe you should turn your car in" (even when I have set up a postdated payment and I have never bounced a check in 10 years!)

They have called my sisters 90 year old ex-mother-in-law (for 7 years now and I have never used her as a reference) my 75 year old mother (I don't know when I used her name, but it must have been years ago)...now my payments have been late because of the outragious gas prices, the economy, etc...but I have had a lease for 10 years...always fufilled the agreement and I am only a few weeks behind...

I want to file a class action suite...anybody else interested? I think the way they have treated me is horrible to say the least. I'm 51 years old and have worked in my profession for 25 years and if I ever even thought of saying what these people are saying I would be fired. I've had it, and now I want to fight back!

It's not harassment, it's called collections, Chrysler abides by the Fair credit reporting act, and the "recession" is just some excuse that you heard about on TV because the economy is sooo bad....I bet you had the same job but because the TV has told you our economy is in recession, you decided that you wouldnt make your car payment on time. Maybe you won't keep getting calls if you just agree to defer a payment for the month. They do have options if your in a bind.

Same thing is happenign to me. I wouldn't mind being part of a lawsuit either. I am indeed behind - but ONE MONTH behind. THat's it. My relatives are now being called. i'm being called at LEAST five times a day including SUNDAYS. It's rediculous.

Not a lemon

The OP doesn't say his/her vehicle is a lemon, just they decided to pay late. You are paying late, pay on time and guess what? Take a guess. That is right, you will not get anymore phone calls. I have no idea what a postdate payment is though. If that is a postdated check, the date is meaningless - the bank doesn't look at dates to see if they should process the check or not.

I am interested in doing a class action suit. Chrysler Financial called my brother's house and told my sister in law all about my unpaid lease payment; I stopped paying because the truck was a lemon and Chrysler Financial did not credit my account and the only way those idiots understood anything was for me to withhold payment. I was successful in my lemon lawsuit in NJ but as I fought the balance left on the lease, Rubin & Rothman in Cranford NJ decided to file a complaint, which again I successfully fought and won. These idiots, including the attorneys didn't know they were dealing with a paralegal. SURPRISE! Although my case is older than yours, count me in. FV

How would you like it if your boss could not pay you for just a few weeks because of the economy? CFC just wants to be paid according to your agreement, the economy is bad every where, not just your house
