Ciera Collection Bridal & Formalwear Beware of wedding gown site Pickerington Ohio
On November 2, 2008 I ordered a mother-of-the-bride gown for a January 2009 wedding. Cieras Catalog website indicated that their gowns ship in 1-2 weeks of ordering. The gown cost $248, which they promptly deducted from my account through PayPal. I indicated on the order form that I would need the gown by December 16, 2008 for any alterations.
I called the company 2 weeks after my order to confirm because I had not received any communication that my order was accepted other than them taking my money. The woman on the phone indicated that I would receive my gown by the end of November 2008. The end of November came and I had not received my gown. In a panic, I found another website and ordered a gown, which was shipped in one business day. Cieras Catolog responded to some of my emails saying that I would receive my gown in time for the wedding.
December 16, 2008 came and still no gown. I left for the wedding out of state and contacted Cieras Catolog (through email because their phone has been disconnected).
On December 25, 2008 I still had not received my gown but Cieras kept telling me that they were going to deliver my gown "on Friday". I knew at this time that I was not going to have the gown in time for the wedding so I contacted PayPal to file a dispute to get a refund. I checked on the status of the PayPal dispute and they closed the dispute (without contacting me) and stated that I had filed the dispute more than 45-days after the initial order.
I have filed a BBB complaint requesting a full refund. Cieras Catalog has not responded to the BBB as of this date nor have I received the gown or refund.
I don't understand why this company is still in business and why the Attorney General of the state of Ohio has not demanded that their website be cancelled.
It is now past the wedding date and I never received my merchandise
