Cigna Healthcare doesn't care
My probem is with Cigna Healthcare. Since May of this year, I have been trying to get a sleep study done for possible Sleep Apnea. My Primary care doctor, Allergist, Psychiatrist, and Pulmonary Doctor from a Sleep Center all have written that I need a sleep study for sleep apnea.
Cigna keeps given me letters all by a Dr Kennth Moer saying a sleep study is "Not Medically Necessary."
I have been calling Cigna by phone, recording the conversations with the representativs permision, every day for the past month. No one has ever heard of the Dr that has signed the letters, they have no record of a denial, or "Sir, Im telling you you need to appeal first!" I have faxed and mailed copies of fax recipts and transition ok's, delivery confirmation...but I keep geting "It's not in the system, you'll need to fax it" Or, the person who I talked to before doesnt exist, and there is no such extension.
I have complained to the Better Business Burou, Nevada and California State insurance compliance, Federal Trade Commision, and have found the name of the Doctor that Cgna Says doesn't exist through the American Medical Association. With that information, I have found he is listed in Las Vegas NV, and I have filed a complaint with the Nevada Medical Review Board.
I have been told I can't file in small claims court becaus they are headquartered in Phoenex AZ, and my county court has no power over them, I would have to sue in the county court in Phoenex. I can't afford a lawyer and havn't found one that would even take the case.
I have no idea where to go from here.
