so lets defend a company that can literally take up to 6 months to mail back your rebate... yeah, go ahead. ive seen mistakes on both sides. i personally hate the rebates, just make the phone the price it should be and do away with the rebates. cuts out another section of junk when you get down to it

First of all, to the person that has mailed in the rebate. Very clearly on the rebate form it does state that Cingular Does Not take responsibility for lost late, damaged, incomplete or postage due requests. It also states that illegible or incomplete rebate requests will not be honored. At this time Cingular has asked that you resubmit. You know, due to what the rebate form states, the ORIGINAL barcode being needed, they could have just said too bad, so sad. But they didn't. They said, hey, alright, we'll accept copies please resubmit so we can get your rebate to ya! Think about it that way. They could have REALLY screwed you and not let you resubmit since you don't have the origial and it's really not cingulars fault that the mail didn't reach them. So at this point, i would advise that you be THANKFUL that Cingular has made the EXCEPTION to accept your rebate without the correct requirements. As for the "i'm gonna take them to small claims court" comment.. bring the complete rebate form to your lawyer. He'll tell ya that you are SOL. Cingular has covered their a*s on that rebate form. Nothing can be done cuz it's all there on the rebate form. As for the lil person talking like they work for Cingular. Young America has been hired by Cingular. Cingular gives YA the standards on how to deal with the rebates. THEY tell YA if the cons does not have copies there is nothing we can do. THEY are the ones that print the terms and conditions on the rebate form. Don't be mad at Young America by following the standards that YOUR company has set forth.

We dont actually handle the rebates, another company handles it for us, but they are terrible. It takes three years it feels to get anything done with them. I can only hope you luck on that. The unfortunate thing is that it reflects back on us when the people who are our partners drop the ball so much. I wish things were difrent, but i guess thats why i dont sit in a nice big office
