Complaint Review: CIRCUIT CITY AND PANASONIC - JACKSON Tennessee

All the news channels, along with many others, put these stupid little logos at the bottom right-hand or bottom left-hand corner of the viewing screen. This has been an object of controversy for some time, due to the very problems mentioned in this report. Burn-in on screens. The networks know about this problem; they just refuse to correct it! These networks are so dreadfully afraid that the viewers will totally forget which network they are watching that this stupid logo stays on at all times except for during commercials! It is a ridiculous practice and needs to be stopped because it is ruining peoples equipment! The only alternative is to force yourself to change channels occasionally to get rid of the hateful fixed image that will eventually ruin your screen. The exact opposite of what these networks want.but who cares! They have all received complaints about this issue and refuse to take that little demon logo out of there. As the owner of a Sony big screen TV, I made sure to read the manual completely so that I would know what I can do to use my TV properly, and make it last as long as possible. It specifically states in the manual that watching TV programs with fixed images, such as news tickers, or using video games that leave fixed images on the screen, can cause burn-in. Not sure how you were 'ripped off' by either entity. All I see is that you didn't read your instructions properly, and use the TV the way it says to in the owners manual. The Warranty from the manufacturer covers Manufacturers Defects. Your use of the product caused a problem, therefore it is not covered by the warranty. It doesn't matter which retailer you bought it from, or what the brand of the unit was. They all work the same way. Sorry about your luck, but experience is the best teacher. Next time maybe you should read the manual before you use something.
