On January 9th 2005 I purchased a Sony KV32FS120. The television was on sale for 599.99. First of all, it took the warehouse associates about 45 minutes to find the d**n thing. when he finally arrived, it was some short, dirty, foul-mouthed, little mexican man who didn't even speak proper English. He kept calling fool, and insisted that i help his weak a*s with the tv. i think his name was either Cesar or Danny. in any case, they were very unkept and rude. Anyway, i took the tv home and to my surprise, the box was covered in foul language that my 6 year old daughter read, and kept repeating. I was disturbed by this, but let it slide. i plugged my tv in, and i t seemed to work fine for a few seconds, then suddenly shut off.

Infuriated, i went back to the store where i was greeted by the literally crooked, store director, and what looked like his little yes man. The store director called me "buddy" and introduced himself as Larry. His little puppet just stood there and watched as i explained my situation to him. The manager took one look at my tv and refused to take it back. He cited that the TV was damaged physically, which was not covered under their return policy. I explained to him that i had just purchased the tv just hours earlier, but he simply refused to help me at all. I told him that the dirty a*s warehouse associated probabily damaged it, but still he refused. Then the Operation manager came over and looked at the tv with his crooked goatee, then looked over at Larry, and Larry gave him a dirty look, and the operations mgr repeated what the store director had said.

I was even more furious and reamed them both a new one about their customer service. I asked them for the corporate number and they directed me to their customer service counter. Now let me say, these girls had no clue how to do their jobs, and had to have some of the warehouse associates do their jobs. Finally, it was my turn and i asked for the number. It took 3 of them to find it and this one girl named janet had this rude attitude and started talking like she was from the "'hood" even though she looked whiter than myself. I am currently protesting the allegations that i broke the tv and could sure use anyones suggestions or comments regarding this travesty. Circuit City sucks and will never get another dime from me!

I have never had a problem returning anything to circuit city. I buy things from computers to big screen tv from them all the time. I once brought a radar detector and had it for about a year and the thing broke and I took it back and had no trouple exchange it for another one the people where friendly and very willing to help. I also had a vcr that broke and they were happy to exchange the product. I always shop there and will probably shop there more. If you were not satified maybe your attiude when you walk in there was not good. I been to many circuit city in the US and never had a problem. The thing to think about is that if you go in there acting like a hard a$$ you won't get anything. I would be the one laughing at you when I am standing right behind you. Because ignorance is what people are now days and if you act ignorant you be treated like an idot. People are just doing there job. Maybe your car or truck damage the product. Maybe you should have looked at the product more before taken it home. ha great thinking. I look at everything before putting it in the car. So I don't have the problem I even make them get me a new one if the box is even dented were I think it would hurt the product. Just think before you get mad.

If you were not able to see that there was foul language all over the box. I'm sure it didn't just appear there on the ride home. Why the hell would someone with young children who can read these foul words 'let it slide'? Thats my first problem with your 'rip off'. Secondly, if the TV was in the box, and the box was SEALED when you purchased it, pacakged properly inside the box (packing foam and what not), then one can assume the damage was not done by the box. The TV was damaged when you brought it back to the store, how do you suppose the damage got there? Who took it out of the box? You did. Now, if the box was not sealed when you pruchased it, then you should have gone over the entire unit before leaving the store to ensure that there was no damage. You never said why you were met at the store by the manager? Did you call and use harrasing language, language such as in the post, and that is why you were met by the manager? Fact of the matter is, if your creaming and yelling, NO ONE is going to be willing to help you. You needed to calm down, speak reasonably with them. I'm not even sure why this is a rip off, because you didn't say whether or not you contacted Sony. At this time, Sony would be the ones who need to assist you. Circuit City has followed it return policy stating that there is damage done to the TV, unless you can prove that the damage was done before you purchased it, you really are done with them. There is notihng they can do. But Sony, Sony can probably find out why the TV isn't working, and there is usually a 1 yr manufacturer's warrant on units. I've said this soo many times in reading these reports: YOU CAN DIAGREE WITH THE POLICY, BUT YOU AGREED TO IT WHEN PURCHASING THE PRODUCT. THE FACT THAT THE COMPANY IS FOLLOWING THE POLICY YOU AGREED TO BY PURCHASING FROM THIER COMPANY DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RIP OFF.
