My husband and I also have a lot of the same problems with Citifinancial Mortgage as the customers who wrote letters. We also have been receiving threating calls. We have had our payments refused. When we asked questions, we were told that we were agrumentative. Somehow our 15 year mortgage with a balloon payment became a 30 year mortgage. To top all that off, when we requested a copy of our account history and a copy of our loan with them, we were told to call customer service. So I called an attorney. The attorney told me that his company doesn't handle cases like ours, after I explained what was happening. Now I was at a loss as what to do next. I was going through my loan files that I have at home and I came across this info: The following federal agencies are responsible for enforcing the federal Truth in Lending Act, the law that governs credit term disclosure for home equity lines. Any questions concerning compliance with the act by a particular financial institution should be directed to its enforcement agency. Mortgage Companies to Division of Credit Practices Bureau of Consumer Protection Federal Trade Commission 601 Pennsylvania Avenue,N.W. Washington, D.C. 20580 I am sending them a letter with all correspondence to Citifinancial. Maybe if enough consumers write to them, Citifinancial will be under investigation for their practices. I hope this info helps someone else.

Now, they've gone as far as to call my mother and mother-in-law, a number of times, and have even tried to tell my mother that ALL money paid in goes to INTEREST ALONE, for the first 15 YEARS. They have even lied about when they (this one person) began contacting us. Lastly, when I sent them my complaint in writing, certified mail, they did not respond in the 20 days with notice of receipt of the complaint or in the 60 days of "fixing" the error, both of which they are legally obligated by the RESPA laws. They only sent me a threat of foreclosure. They have called from MANY different numbers, including a wireless, ALL of which are "blocked", and have even called on Sundays, and as early as 7:30a.m I have contacted an attorney, who told me that there are so many violations here, that they were not capable of handling the SIZE of the suit, but would help me find one who could. The Texas Attorney General, has informed me that he has forwarded my information, along with a personal request by him, to them, for them to investigate the matter. I have also learned of the EXTENSIVE amount of damages which are alloted to those who have had these violations against them, and can prove it in a court of law. My only current problem, is that we are in the process of refinancing, and I was told by the attorney, that if we could at all come up with the $2000. that they are demanding, before they foreclose, try to, or we can get the "action" going, it would probably be in our best interest, and would be more than compensated when we finish, and would help the refinance go through faster, as without it, Citi, may find a way around giving the new company a "payoff" amount..
