Your disclosure...I have accounts at Citizens and have spoken to numerous reps there...when you "close" your account, it can still be opened if you have outstanding items. its our responsibility to ensure that there isnt anything left out on the account. After 60 days at zero they fully close it and it cannot be reopened. If you had a check outstanding, and didnt leave sufficient funds to cover it in the account, the bank would be justified and within their rights to attempt to collect on the item and charge any necessary fees. yes, it sucks, but they give you this info in the disclosure that no one bothers to read
