Angel Sindayen, an Inspector of Building Dept came to my place for inspection. This is an update to my previously written comment.
He was not that bad as suggested by previous person. He neither showed any easiness nor harsh behavior in his first visit. He obviously did not approve my job but he was not showing the power of his badge either.
He will come back again for final inspection, I will see how he reacts.
I will be updating soon.

Reading your comments, I am already nervous to deal with this Inspector who is coming to inspect my property.
I have a Red Neck jobless neighbor who is doing all kinds of city code violation but I did not report to city because I am supposed to love my neighbor. However, this idiot reported me for something that was not even my action.
I am however not going to judge Angel Sindayen until I deal with him. He can be the best inspector I have ever dealt with. Who knows? Filipinos are not bad like other people I have seen.
If he is bad and not understanding then I will write all about his behavior in Rip Off and everywhere online so that he can feel the pain. If he is a good and understanding person, I will praise him for his human nature. He should understand other human's problem instead of acting like a god.
Wait for my experience and report.

It is Angel Sindayen involved on this one too. He's already been out to my property before and nothing has changed since then except how he does his investigations. It doesn't seem very consistent when he says you are in violation for one thing and then in violation again for something different on the same thing you were OK on the last time he came out. He is more challenged with satisfying the whining complainer rather than understanding the position that the so-called violator is in. In other words, they'd prefer that you and your neighbor went to court on this as a civil matter so that they and the attorneys get paid. It's a racket!

My neighbor has turned me in twice for the same thing. The last time he came out, he stated that we just needed to have a cover over the classic cars that my son is working on. This time he says the cars must start when he shows up to investigate or we are in violation and fined. Although he did suggest that it must be parked in the garage when it is not operable. I asked him "so where do I put all my engine parts that are in my garage so I can pull the car in? Out on the driveway where the car is now?". L.A. is not a friendly city by any means whether it is political, business, community or classic vehicle restoration. However, I am not going to wait for him to show up at my door since I have a life and a job to fulfill. Nosey neighbors make great enemies! And that $356.00 is supposed to be able to be appealed but good luck with that. They justify it as a fee for coming out to inspect the violation. However, B & S does nothing about my neighbors vehicles that are parked completely on their lawn (all four tires) nor does Parking Enforcement. Just curious how your situation turned out? Thanks!
