Complaint Review: City of Reno NV & Andy Bass - Reno Nevada

 Why should YOU get any better treatment then the rest of us all?? We get it, YOU served, but YOU are putting yourself ABOVE everyone else in order of need. So you are a veteran, did you EVER stop and think that the help YOU were asking for, YOU did not qualify for?? NO!!!! It MUST be that because YOU are a veteran. Let me clue you in on something. America, the country, appreciates the time and service YOU put in. The AMERICANS are getting tired of carrying people. My tax dollars in part, go to keeping YOU alive and well. Don't you think its a bit unfair of YOU to go digging for MORE??? We ALL have problems and we ALL need help. Social services can only do so much, food banks can only give so much. Yet, YOU expect and DEMAND better treatment then the rest of us ALL.

JUST because at somepoint YEARS AGO you served. Im not saying that YOU as a veteran don't deserve the respect and admiration, what I AM saying is its unfair of YOU to expect MORE then anyone else BECAUSE you served. Respect and admiration ARE FREE!!!! So it costs NOTHING to give you that. But ANYTHING that costs money MUST be paid by someone!! If that someone is NOT you, then YOU are asking for others to pay for YOUR problems and most of America cant even afford to save a little money to protect their own families. WHY in ANY stretch of the imagination would you EXPECT others to put YOU above themselves??

Sorry, but the "Im a disabled veteran" doesn't hold the weight it once did. People are pragmatic now. Ask yourself a few questions. Have YOU been a person OUT of active duty LONGER then the amount of time YOU served? If so, then THEY will give you all the respect you can swallow, but MONEY issues, that's a different story. If you served 4 years and got out WHY would you expect OTHERS to pretty much PAY FOR YOU??? Personally, YOU have my sympathy. My Grandfather served, and was injured in WW2. BUT!!!! He DID NOT live on the governments dime. HE went forward with his life, even injured and made a family and retired nicely. HE died in his home, NEVER expecting ANYONE to treat HIM any different then any other person out there. In my mind, he was a great man BECAUSE he NEVER let his military service and his injury stop him from BEING AN AMERICAN!!!

I agree that there should be a change in HOW Vets are taken care of. But understand......IF that happens you may see a slight change for those that have served a decade or more, but your service UNDER the 10 year mark will probably be less, and get even less. The American people can only do so much. It OUR wallets being stolen from in order to pay for all these nice little programs that the less fortunate enjoy. Half of America lost their homes in the market crash so WHERE is this money supposed to come from?? YOU as a vet are being taken care of by people who make minimum wage or LESS!!!

People who have to work two and three jobs JUST to put food on the table and a roof over their heads and YOU want MORE out of them. THEY cant even take a day off!!! Yet some how and some way WE are supposed to make MORE MONEY so it can be taken by the very same people/govt that put YOU in the boat you are in now. YES!!! The entire system needs an overhaul!!!! But THAT wont happen until we STOP having petty wars.

Until AMERICA heals from the wounds of poor leadership and poor choices by those leaders. The best I can offer YOU is contact your VFW or Moose lodge. They might be able to help you. Otherwise, if you expect MORE for something YOU did in the past, you will be sorely disappointed BECAUSE citizens are here in the NOW!!! And NOW things suck for us all.
