I called this business to inquire about a vehicle. I wanted to know if what I saw on a picture was a dent and if the carpet was faded or if that was just the way the picture looked. I also asked if the price could be lowered. I was told no it was not a dent it was a shadow and that they do not take pics outside the warehouse any longer because of shadow effects and that the car had no dings or rust that it had just a few minor scratches. I was told the price was firm but they would help with the shipping. I stated I would consider and call back.
I called back a few minutes later and told the gentleman that if he would pay the shipping I would buy the vehicle. We made the arrangements and sent the money by wire. I was then told that they would only pay part of the shipping and then told none of the shipping but that he would talk to the owner and try to send me a refund check for part of it. That never happened.
I finally received the car which took some nagging to get it shipped, and indeed the image I saw was a dent and the carpet is very faded. There are also many places where the paint has chipped and there is rust. The paint is peeling off in many places.
I have had the door locks fixed, the carb rebuilt, the tires replaced and aligned and the paint repaired and the dash light wiring repaired. The car also leaks and that will need repaired.
The car was supposed to come with some original parts and receipts for the engine that was said to be rebuilt. Those items have not been received yet. I bought the car 02/15/13 and today is 04/05/13
I called and e mailed many times and have been told that these things have shipped, yet they are still not here.
I have asked many times to speak to the owner and have not received a response.
In the end it comes down to shady dealing. This company proves that you must have all details in writing.
I am reasonable and understand the car is old and will have problems but I was directly lied to about the condition of the car and the shipping. More importantly is the fact that once they had my money in their hands they where no longer interested in trying to make me, the buyer happy. They know that I signed the "as is" document and that there is not really anything I can do.. I can at least file these reports in the hope that the next person does not trust these people. Do not buy the car without going to see it and make sure every detail is in writing. The sales person is very convincing and will lead you to believe he is a nice guy with your interest at heart..WRONG.
