we never had leaks before your roof was installed, and your company installed your product on our chimney, your salesman sold it to us that way he said it was no different than doing a mansard wall. when you did come out to see the problem you said it was classic canada that installed it, before the name changed to classic products and therfore you wanted $5 000.00 to fix it, and the new company does not handle the old companies warranty. how convenient, what will the company be called 5 years from now.

When a customer call a roofing company with a leaky roof, I would think it would be up to the roofing company to determine what was causing the leak and how to repair it It sounds like the roofing company slapped a new roof on and THEN determined that that wasn't the problem after all. It sounds kind of odd when the roofing company is posting about siding. I thought a chiminney WAS on the roof, but maybe I'm missing something here.

With any story, there are always two sides. And almost always all the facts are not stated. A permanent metal roof is a superior solution for ones home. But, it will not solve every problem a homeowner may have with their roof. In this instance the homeowner had a preceding problem with leaking before the roof was installed. Rocco has installed metal siding on his chimney and secured it with large bolts right into the brick. When they had first called about a leak the service department was sent out right away to diagnose and repair the leak. It was not until the second attempt that it was figured out that it was not the roof at all, but that the chimney was the source of the leak. Rocca had installed the siding without putting a vapor barrier or any ice and water membrane at the perimeter of the chimney to keep it sealed. The result was that the rain has run down behind the siding he had installed and caused damaged to the ceiling below. When that was figured out, it was told to Rocco and admitted that it had leaked prior to the roof being installed. As the leaks was not a result from the roof installation. We had given them options to fix the situation with covering the cost of material and we would provide free labor. In order to repair the damage caused by the chimney, half of the roof would to be removed and then re installed. along with plywood and other materials. The response from Rocco and his family was "No Way, he will pay one Penny". It was explained numerous times that it was the siding on his chimney that caused the leak. And with zero co-operations from Rocco, we are now at this point.
