Clayton Homes ripoff having to pay for items covered in set up Ridgeway Virginia
Hi we recently purchased a home from Clayton homes in Ridgeway VA.We havent even passed final inspection and are already having trouble with them.When we made the deal with them our price included total setup,a turnkey situation,All grading septic ,water hookups were included.Now that we are in the process of having it installed I have daily conversations with this company about having to pay for all of the above with the exception of sewer hook up.Yesterday the argument was over grading for positive drainage.They were supposed to do all the grading.When the inspector came out for his final inspection he failed the house due to no grading for positive drainage,as well as a list of things he had given them one month before,None of the items on his earlier list had been addressed either but they still called for inspection.
Now they are saying I am responsible for the grading,to which I replied ,"thats not what your paperwork says.". The Clayton people then told me they would do the grading if and only if I signed a paper stating I was a 100% satisfied customer.I agreed to sign it as satisfied up to the date on the paper.
This morning I get a phone call from the same person stating that I now have to pay to have my water lines hooked up,again that is not what their paperwork says.
My house hasnt even passed inspection yet and I am having all these problems already,I hate to think of what their service will be like lol.

You should get out now if you can. What they do is double charge you for your home improvements. Then they even promised a contractor doing our electric they would pay him to go ahead! WELL GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!! HE STILL AS NOT BEEN PAID. AGAIN BEWARE OF THIS RUDE, THOUGHTLESS COMPANY!
