Cleo Bay Honda a copy of my driver's license was used without my consent to purchase a car by my ex-husband and cleo bay. i did not give neither permission nor did i have any knowledge whatso ever. Ripoff Killeen Texas
recently i found out from my credit report that i was a co-signer co-payee in the purchase of a 2002 ford f-150 from cleo bay honda in killeen, tx. the amount of the vehicle is approximatly $17,000. this was done in november of 2005, and in that month i left for the state of minnesota. so my ex-husband somehow got a copy of my driver's license and walked into cleo bay, and that was it. he drove away with the car. i knew nothing of this. how can the company just take someone's copied identification and just go with that, and not even verify if the person is a willing participant, or has any knowledge? i know that my ex-husband id at fault too, but is the car dealership at fault also? i did some investigating and i filed a police report, but what do i do now? cleo bay is now blaming the loan company and my ex-husband. i called cleo bay and they stated that this is how they do their business. can this be identity theft, fraud, or theft?

Have all your divorce papers ready so the cops won't think you are in on the fraud, have samples of your signature and any court decisions or other documents that pertain to the situation. The cops will automatically think you are in on a scam, so be ready to defend your position. You should be able to prove your side very easily and your ex will land in jail. The next part will be tricky. He will probrably call you up, crying for you to drop the charges and how he's so sorry, that it's all the dealer's fault, and will you pretty please bail him out because his girlfriend and mommy won't do it, yada yada yada. If you fall for it, you deserve what happens.Let me know how far off I am. Good luck.
