ClickAQuote The infamous "buy our leads of seemingly perfect clients for your web business" scam London England
Thi is just a word of caution
I have almost be caught out by these fraudster scams in the past and have even reported on one on this website last year. Chris Newmann was the guys name and this scam is almost the same
The only difference this time around is that they aren't offering anything for free (because that why the scam seems to good to be true..they are learning) Chris's scam included 2 free leads that I spoke to and they we so keen to part with lots of money but then came up with reasons not to proceed, family death/ill health etc. peter is bypasing this bit and just asking for £45 for an exclusive lead
They send unsolicited emails clamining to have leads for web business, with details about the lead (no contact detaisl until you pay for lead at £45). Big budgets £10k + wanting web design, adwords, SEO etc
They Claim lead is exclusive to whoever pays, first come first served
I have had about 3 - 4 emails over 2 months from them
Checked out company and found they are only just set up, working out of shared PO box/ virtual office in london that has over 40-50 other businesses registered at the address
The website and domain are only just set up recently, November i think...would bet my last dollar they won;t still be around in 3 months from now!!
Each time I showed a little interest they had an excuse why the lead was no longer avaialble ( I think the old con trick of keep telling someone NO until they beg you for a lead is what they are doing??)
So anyhow just waiting now to see if they send the one i have showed interest in this time or if it will have gone already?
I did also register as someone looking for a quote on their site with locations etc and what I wanted that would match my own skills etc bt never heard from them about that lead!! even tho I stipulated i wanted someone within 20 miles of my location!!
Anyways, it may not be a scam, but i don;t want to find out and just a friendly warning to anyone out their who gets offered a lead, be careful. this is an age old con scam
