I have had a number of bad experiences with this company. They told me I (and my 5 other traveing companions) were booked at the wrong hotel (St. Louis), and they don't have anyone available on weekends to take care of these kinds of problems. The hotel manager finally tracked down the correct hotel (where we had reservations) half a mile down the road.
While on the road, I was put on hold for over a half an hour while trying to find a room for the night. When they finally got back to me, I was told every one had gone home for the day.
They told me they had booked 3 rooms for us (in Fr. Lauderdale) but when I called the hotel, they only had booked 2.
They quoted me prices on rooms (in Sarasota/Venice area) that I could get cheaper by just calling the hotels, myself.
I booked 2 rooms a couple of months ago (in Venice) and cancelled one of them thru Grand Getaways (I received a confirmation call from GG), but when I called the hotel to confirm the cancellation, my 2nd room had not been cancelled. I finally had to insist that the hotel cancel the room because GG would not answer any of my emails or phone messages.
Recently, I booked a room at a Maui Hotel thru GG for late September and GG charged my credit card for the $1200+. I had given them the credit card no.to hold the room, not to be charged for it 5 months in advance. I was assured by them that I could cancel up to 4 days before the check-in date. The person who booked the room no longer works for them. Now I'm trying to cancel the room (I just don't trust these people), but no one will return my calls or emails. I've had to dispute these charges (and the one in Venice) on my credit card. Still waiting to hear from GG.
