Marietta,#2Consumer Suggestion
Thu, December 02, 2004
We live in Marietta, Georgia and have frequented the Save Rite on Roswell Road for many years. Until recently (the past 1 1/2 yrs.) the store has significantly declined in both customer service and the quality of product sold. It's unimaginable to believe that meat would be sold (packaged green-side down) to a unsuspecting consumer. When brought to the attention of management, there was no apology (nor remorse). However, after having to PROVE the out-of-date meat was sold to me, I was allowed a refund. I simply could not believe how I was treated. In addition, the produce at Save Rite used to be exceptional and, unfortunately, now, it's difficult to buy a simple onion without bringing it home only to find the first four layers unedible. UNBELIEVABLE! In conclusion, this very evening - during a quick stop to pick-up a few packs of Pepsi, we found that the price of the soda has risen to $4.39. Of course, anyone must know you can buy a 12-pack of Pepsi at any CONVENIENT store for less than what Save Rite is now charging. How is that allowed in a "supposed" DISCOUNT store? Are consumers being both duped and "gouged" at the same time? I refuse to shop Save Rite now unless, of course, something is actually discounted (i.e. on sale)! Other than that, you can find me at Publix.
