I finally got this issue resolved......7 months and complaints to the Better Business Bureau and Prince Georges County Cable Commission later....... Funny how Comcast only listened after I complained to these two entities. Even more interesting is that the cable commission rep said that Comcast is notorious for charging for digital cable boxes that have been returned! My comment was that "you're the cable commission, so why don't you do something about it?!" If they hadn't been able to resolve it, I would have had to take them to small claims court (difficult because I now live halfway across the country). I am now satisfied, but that was 7 MONTHS of UNNECESSARY stress (not to mention we almost lost the opportunity to purchase our home because of this stupid little item on my credit report)! Moral of the story: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS hang on to your shipping receipts (until at least 7 years have passed) when returning things to Comcast. Otherwise, you will get SCREWED!
