Complaint Review: Comedian Sonya D - waukegan Illinois

I now its you speaking for yourself...Dont forget I know how you speak & what you wish others would say....money was taken & you know it...lies where told & you know it...and I have been told by Sonya with her own mouth once I confronted her...how bad her reputation is out here and i have found several negative reports online surrounding Sonya D and about 30+ personal off line statements ...not to mention the many many people she still owes money..including me & several respectable artist &  people who refuse to work with her..or anything she is involved in!!  

these lies wont help not one bit...the truth is saturating faster than I expected and the response I received from several people at the event has been overwhelming...SO STOP YOUR LIES!! I THINK YOU NEED THE MEDIA TO GET YOU ON POINT.  Its funny how you are online pretending to know factual info...but i have proven conversations & text of Sonya personally telling me how bad her name has gotten out here on the entertainment scene and how she plans to one day make it right...SO WHAT ARE YOU SAYING????

people where begging me not to work with her..and Sonya...you begged me to give you a chance...look at me now...an addition to your scam list. but I was careful not to get burned too bad because of all the warnings

Almost every fact in your response is false..thats why im so suspicious its Sonya typing..nobody is going to act like they know facts that are false, and NO ONE.. is going to talk long & strong & passionate like that for someone else..not even their dam Momma!! Phony A**...people will support and type & talk..but not that much unless its for themselves...hell I wouldnt want them too anyway, because they dont know the whole factual situation..they only know their side...why challenge someone elses personal experience?? hmmph...yep

youre donating 25,000 my a**...she just asked me to loan her 1500.00 before this event, to pay her taxes!! not to mention forgery charges I recently found on record from her so called comedy club ..dont play with fire..you might get burned! YOU ARE A SCAMMER SONYA AND YOUR DAYS OF SCAMMING ARE COMING TO A TRAGIC END..YOU SCAMMED THE WRONG ONE, LIED, DECEIVED, PLAYED GAMES WITH THE OWNER OF THE CLUB, DIDNT REFUND ALL OF HIS MONEY, LEFT THE BILL ON ME..DONT PLAY. 

 1st, I would like to state that I've never been one to read the gossip on the internet because 90% of it is false and many people use it as an angle to get some sort of exposure or degrade another human being. I had a business partner, who happens to be an Attorney, Google Comedian Sonya so that he could see her great works and we came across this article. My name is Dr. Bridget Sanders and I have known Sonya for 9years. Not one negative comment have I ever heard about her work ethnics until now. I won’t even accept this as being negative, but a means of someone expressing themselves, which is very understandable. I have been a MAJOR supporter and financial backer for many of Sonya’s events and ALL that I have witness, have been Huge successes. All events featuring National Celebrity Artists I personally was at this Aug 8 event. I flew in from Memphis to support the launch of ‘Women Rule the Mic Tour’, in which this is what this event was all about. It was not the Vivica Fox Show. Vivica was not FALSELY advertised. I know this because I was a MAIN Sponsor. There WAS a deposit given to Vivica’s Management Company. In this business you cannot advertise an artist without securing them with a deposit.

There was massive advertisement surrounding this event AFTER the deposit was secured with Sonya personal funds. Now there was an issue as to should Sonya go on with the event after she received noticed that she may have to cancel the entire event. Waiting for an answer to move on, by the time Sonya received the OK, Mrs. Fox’s airline ticket went from $780.00 to $2,001 for 1st class ticket, which was simply not in Sonya’s budget. Sonya was simply bringing in Mrs. Fox as a Special Guest. She wanted to do something different for the City of Waukegan. 'Women Rule the Mic' is a National Tour that my company has personally put $25,000 behind in support of Sonya D's Dream Tour for 2014. No Sponsor funds were used to secure the Aug 8th event. Sponsors paid their fees (like most do) for their product placement at the event and those funds were used to create MORE marketing to advertise THEIR BUSINESSES. The banners, Giveaway bags, etc. Being that Sonya promised the Sponsors photos with Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Fox being not in attendance, no fault of her own, Sonya reimbursed ALL Sponsor funds. What's crazy is that ALL of these same Sponsors are supporting her existing events as we speak. No one was scammed? They were all there at the event and did very well receiving recognition off their products. I have copies of ALL documents, contracts, deposits from this Aug 8th event because I, again, am a MAIN Sponsor for most of Sonya's events. I know personally Sonya lost over $2,800 from this event, but was excited that not one guest was upset nor disappointed. I sat through the entire show and the only comment Sonya made was that "she'd wish most celebrities could take Coach Flights. 1st class can get expensive'.

We have this on film. We filmed the entire event. She never bashed Vivica's name. Sonya actually explained at the beginning of the show, to the entire crowd WHY Mrs. Fox wasn't there and offered refunds to ALL the guests. No one would accept a refund. I do know that there was a venue in Chicago who was to have Vivica for autograph signing after Sonya's show in Waukegan. The owner of that place paid his deposit (we have that on file) for her appearance and because Mrs. Fox was unable to attend, Sonya returned the owner his money. Vivica wasn't to receive these funds until she landed in Chicago. I'm not knocking this entertainment company/person who posted this article, but My Company DBSE Entertainment, INC…personally paid $350 the ‘street team’ that promoted Sonya's event. That was one of our sponsor agreements. Those were the only promoters we were aware of. I know there was someone from Sonya’s show that was supposed to drive Mrs. Fox to Chicago for another autograph signing and that’s was it. I'm not sure if this event company was ‘promoting’ Vivica at the other venue and because she didn't show, it hurt the event? I and the Attorney are still not sure why Anita Wellman is mentioned in this article?. I've met this lady a few times. She simply assures the faxes go through and handles emails for Sonya. She's not even a promoter. I don’t think she is even aware of this defamation of her character.

Sonya D is probably one of the hardest working female Comedy/Event promoters I know to date. It was my High Recommendation that invited the Book of Who’s who to nominate her on their roster in 2009 and 2011. She simply brings laughter and love to any community event. We've all had events that didn't go well, but we get through them. Comedian Sonya D is a great event promoter and I will recommend her for any event promotions. My company and partners recently invested $220,000.00 into her next movie project in which she's recruiting underprivileged up and coming Artists to give them a chance at stardom. You don’t put money like this behind scam artists. People will say many false, nasty and mean things and the more people spreading, the more they seem like the truth. I am a huge supporter of self-expression and this comment is not intended for some useless going back and forth. I’m simply stating facts that I know of about the Aug 8th event. I was there from the day Sonya decided to add Vivica to the show. Yes, Mrs. Fox was added. This event was already established and budget was sat, Sonya wanted to add something extra on the show. I support Sonya D 1000% and I don't know another promoter male or female who brings results the way she and her Company does. No one works as hard as she does. I and my Corporate partners will continue to support her. She’s 18-19yrs in this business and this is the only negative statement about her? That alone should say something. And should any more negative comments follow this one, is simply someone adding flame to a fire that will soon die out. DBS.
