I responded to an ad on Indeed.com and received an email from Lisa R. Carstarphen ([email protected]) advising that I can set up an interview with Michael Dillard ([email protected]) by yahoo IM. I was interested to see what was next.  In the interview he advised that the open positions was accounting and administrative assistant.  I would be working form home temporarily unitl the Atl office which the area I am near opens up in mid January.

After he asked several  prelimiary interview questions I supposivly qualified for the accounting position with my accounting background. The next step was for me to sign a document stating I understand the pay, I would be independent contractor, no benefits for first few months, and general information. I sent that to Amanda Williams one of the supervisors ([email protected]). After that I was told that I would need several accounting software. Most companies only use 1 or 2 but they gave me a list and was advised they would pay for it by sending me a check to then go to a specific link to purchase the software. What company would send $3,999 to an employee they do not know and only have basic information on.

They did send the check via FedEx the very next day.  It was a cashier check that look fake. The check number was the same as the routing number. The account number and routing number swapped places looking at the number of digits.  I do know that this is a software company. I'm thinking that the purpose was to get me to cash the check then purchase the software on one of their other websites.  At the end they would have had $3,999 and I would have owed my bank $3,999. But I'm much smarter than that. I knew it was a scam the minute they said they would mail a check for me to buy the supplies.  Most companies will require you to already have the software or they will allow you to download it from a link provided.
