My Boyfriend,(Scott Guyne & I) went to CompUSA in Wichita on February 28 of 2004. I bought a motherboard from them and it crashed with in 14 days of using it. They told us that our receipt did no good to have because they could not do anything for it at that point in time. It was no longer their responsibility. The sales Rep said we had to talk to Gary in the morning. He told us to go home and come back the next morning. The problem was we lived 36 miles away in Hutchinson. We were in Wichita for only a few hours.

3-28-04 Scott emailed our friend Gary at CompUSA and we heard nothing until this morning on 3-29-04. Gary told us to bring it in with the receipt and he would look at it. We took it in receipt and all they told us to buy a 15.00 fan for the motherboard which did not work anyways. We bought the stupid fan and went home.

2:00 on 3-29 we got home to my house and put the fan in the computer completely crashed and shut down about 3:30 p.m. Gary completely treated us like we did not know what we were even saying and acted like he was the lord of the Jungle. CompUSA has the attitude like who really cares about them anyways as long as we get their money. I feel they got their license out of a cracker jack box and I was going to tell them to everyone in the store but I didn't. They should be lucky. I was sick and not feeling well. It's the only thing which saved them. I got ripped off 70.00 and I think it's !@##$$. If they get away with treating people like @#$% than why should they even sell computers?

I bought a movavi video editor at the store..   I went to register it.. It said it was registered but still the 7 day free trial is on it...   There is no online support for the chat now button and they dont get back with you..   They want you to pay for something you already paid for...

Hi Tara :) There are quite a few geeks that read the ROR's and I'm hoping they see your report. In the meantime, can you give us all a little more information? What brand of motherboard did you buy, did you buy it with CPU or without? What type of fan did Gary advise you to purchase (a fan to go on top of the heatsink or one for the computer case itself)? With this additional information, hopefully someone here can help you. My first thought from reading your report was the fan on top of your heatsink went bad and your new motherboard got too hot and crashed. I have an idea that is what Gary was thinking too. I've had this happen to an old MB I had and couldn't afford a fan for some time. I ended up keeping my computer case open and using a clip on fan blowing over the MB. It worked and kept me from crashing until I could get a new fan. I sure hope you get this problem resolved in the near future. I know how exciting it is to get an upgrade for your computer and then how disheartening it is when it doesn't work right.
