2 years ago I attended Computer Learning Center in Hurst, Texas. I was not working in the computer field at the time and all of the students were encouraged to find employment in the computer industry. I found a job in Dallas in computer support and was told by 3 administrative employees at the campus in Hurst that I could transfer to the Dallas campus for convenience sake. I took the job,I moved to Dallas and was *then* informed that I could not transfer to the Dallas campus, that it was the policy of Computer Learning Center to not allow transfers and that I owed Computer Learning Center a balance of almost $5,000. I had been prompt in my monthly payments at that time and they said they would accept monthly payments of $375.00 (almost twice the amount I had been paying.) I was unable to make payments and still meet my rent. When I spoke to a man in the main office, he was extremly rude, overbearing and adament that I pay the $375.00 per month.

Now, my credit is ruined, Computer Learning Center has gone into bankruptcy and even if I had stayed, look what would have happened according to their website:

Student Claimants--Student priority claims are being addressed at this time and the claims department hopes to correspond with you in the next 60-90 days. Please remember that, by federal bankruptcy statute, the maximum allowable priority payment will be $1,950 per claimant. The balance, if any, will treated as a general creditor claim. When ,and if, there are distributions to general creditors, that balance will be addressed at that point. We can advise that some states have other resources for you

draw on, with regard to lost student tuition claims, such as state surety bonds. Its important to check with your state to see what, if any, are your additional options.

If you choose to attend any Computer School check your contract for the relocation policy - you never know what life will bring you and you cannot, cannot believe what they say.

Challenge everything that CLC put into your credit report. Since they are no longer in operation they will be unable to contest your complaint and your record should be cleared. You can claim the contract was a fraud and was misrepresented. If you're in a state where oral contracts are binding you can easily claim they agreed to allow you to relocate and complete your training.
