Comstock Homes selling shoddy homes to unexpecting homeowners Reston Virginia
We bought a converted condo from Comstock in October 2006 so that we would have room for our growing family. We recently discovered a leak in our baby's room coming up through the flooring. We called the management company and were surprised to find out that we were not the only condo having these issues.
It seems that the condos have been having foundation problems that have been on-going, and Comstock did not do it's due dilligence to fix the issues before they sold the condos. So now we are in a situation where Comstock is saying that they will not pay for the repairs that need to be made to the buildings. This means that it might have to come out of our homeowner fees and subsequently raise our rates.
I was assured by the person who came out to inspect that this much erosion and these problems could not have come up in a short amount of time, and Comstock would have known about these issues when they made other improvements to the buildings, such as redoing all the interiors.
I think Comstock should be ashamed of selling people homes they knew were not in good condition. Our home now has mold in it from the leak and is a possible health hazard, especially to my young daughter. Our management company is doing their best to fix it, but people should know that Comstock cannot be trusted!
