STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
I had a similar call. Just this time from Mr. John Parks. I was told that I will get a health insurance plan. What I got was a discount plan and tons of trouble. This company is a big scam. Once you "signed up" they HANG UP on you or put you ON HOLD FOREVER when you try to cancel or talk to anyone. However, they keep charging your account. I've sent several emails and faxes no respond. I'm sooo upset that I was so stupid to do business with that company. Do not listen to any of the sales stuff they tell you. It's all lies. There is NO 30 DAY trial with refund. You even don't get a chance to get someone one the phone and some numbers they give you are simply out of service. And THEY WILL KEEP CHARGING YOUR ACCOUNT.
I already informed the Office of the Attorney General of Florida.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!

I too have diabetes as does the poster. It's a fact that insurance companies will deny such a condition for individual major medical coverage. If not an outright denial the insurance company could charge me a huge rate up or deny any and all claims related to my diabetes and the meds I take. So I looked for an alternative. I found Congressional Health Plans. I did my homework thoroughly before purchasing. What they specialize in is a limited benefit health plan. Their agents, benefits consultants, sales reps, DO NOT HAVE A REQUIREMENT TO BE LICENSED. This is true because technically a limited benefit health plan/discount plan is not classified as insurance.
Nevertheless, such a plan provides me with access to healthcare; doctors, hospitals, specialists on a very good network of providers when otherwise barred by tradition insurance underwriters. I have had my plan for 8 months now and routinely use it. I go to 2 different specialists twice a month. I can't tell you how much it has saved me in both doctors' visits and prescription drugs. I even lacerated my hand and required 40 stitches at the emergency room and the claim was honored in full.
In a perfect world I would love to have a full blown major medical paid for by my employer. The reality is I am uninsurable. I would be lost without my Congressional healthcare plan. Sounds like sour grapes and retribution. In your OWN WORDS you stated you are not qualified medically for a traditional plan. I would rather have good coverage and access to healthcare than to have no coverage at all and paying everything out of pocket. Thanks Congressional.
