After filing an update here, a report with the AG's office, and venting on Twitter, I get a tweet from a representative from Conn's telling me that she'll look into it.
I'm not going to hold my breath.

This past October, I was resigned to being screwed and set up automatic payments with the representative at Conn's. I'd been making 'good faith payments' by calling them indicating that I was still waiting to hear from Conn's corporate offices.
In January 2012, I get a very nasty representative on the phone stating that I owed Conn's $400 and I needed to pay up. I was affronted and explained that I have direct withdrawals. After further investigation, it appeared that Conn's never set up my direct withdrawals. The lady asked if I had signed the form and I asked her what form? She sent me the requisite form and and I faxed it back to her.
Last month, I find out that they did not make the automatic withdrawals upon receipt of the form b/c they wanted the payment of $400 and that's when I lost it. I told them that I had patiently done what they had told me to do to resolve the issue with the overpriced washer and the phone calls were getting to be ridiculous and that I was done with them. I told them to come pick up their washer. They told me that I would need to sign yet another form. They mailed me said form and the form states that I acknowledge the balance due on the account. Can you say full circle? I called them and told them that I wasn't going to sign their form and that they could come get their washer. I'd even contacted my apartment complex that they could let Conn's into my apartment to get their washer.
I was so upset by my dealing with them that I went to twitter to vent and encountered another consumer who is dealing with the same situation that I am.
Now, they've resorted to calling frequently and even sending a letter by courier. Today, I've received 7 calls and a letter by courier. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General concerning this situation.
