I found this website as I was searching on the internet to contact Conseco Finance about my account with them, and I have read everyone's stories with my mouth wide open. I have felt like I was completely alone for the longest time. This is my story:

In 2000 I went to a local mobile home dealer to get out of my apartment and see if I could get a home. I filled out some paperwork and a couple of days later I was notified that I had been approved by Conseco. I was asked to come in and sign the closing costs and to speak with a Conseco represantive over the phone. Yes, I was stupid and signed the line that has ruined my life for the past two years. I have a 17% interest rate on a $25,000 mobile home, which in the end of my long and dreary 30 year contract I will have paid them $100,000.

Over the past two years I have paid on time, until about 2 months ago. I lost my job and I called Conseco to get a deferment. First I got a foreign man on the phone who couldn't speak much English. So, I asked him after repeating myself over and over, to speak to someone who does speak and understand English. I got someone who spoke English alright, he told me a deferment was not a luxury and it was far too overrated and when I told him that every time I call no one is willing to work with.

He answer was well I didn't sign the loan ma'am. When I asked to speak to the refinance department, they told me that my home is only worth $13,000. I was floored I purchased this home in 2000 brand new off the lot and it already depreciated that much. What?? They told me I couldn't refinance with negative equity. This whole thing is a nightmare. I can't get out of this loan with out destroying the credit I have tried to build up.

I can't sell it because no one wants to pay that much for it because they can buy a brand new for the same price. I trip the HEP program with Conseco and they said that they could sell it, but I would need to be delinquient and vacant from the premises. But, there is a kicker. I still have to make payments on this place until it sells and pay the lot rent it resides on.

I think that we have all been screwed with our pants on and I just wish there was something that can be done to these people.

Once I get out of here, if I ever do, I will never buy another mobile home or do business with Conseco Finance again!

Sorry for the length but that felt so good to finally say something, especially to people who know where I am coming from.

Conseco can't keep on doing the things they are doing forever. Surely the fair lending and truth agreement people will take notice of the complaints all of people have complained about, and take notice! Don't let them get away with this type B.S. anymore!!!!!!!!!
