I moved to my apartment building less than a year ago and transferred my Direct Tv Service to my new address, as i was told that the building was wired with Sattelite Dishes already. I pay the same amout to Direct Tv as i always have, but now i must pay something like $9.00 a month to this third party Consolidated Smart Systems. When the property sold i stopped paying as the new ownership had not known about this company yet and i knew that they really werent doing anything anyway. Well after being about $36.00 behind in my payments with them, I started getting a break up and an occasional searching for satellite signal on my tv's. I called Direct Tv and we did a series of tests, and found that there was nothing wrong with the boxes, and it must be the sattelite dish, which by the way in 7 years of previous service i had no problems with at all and we live in Monsoon country, needless to say i know how difficult it is for the dish to be disturbed. So now Direct tv tells me its not the box and i asked if this other company could turn me off and they said no, i pay Direct TV directly and they had no problem with me, and also because Consolidated did not give me my boxes they would not have access to disconnect them anyway. Well thinking that my only option was to pay Consolidated because perhaps there was real issue with the dish, I come to find out it was what they call a "soft dissconnect" done by them because of my nonpayment. After a while of conversation with this agent and trying to understand how they got access to my box, they admitted to having sent out a representative to do something to the Satellite dish on the outside. Wow this sounded to me like something out of grade school, is this how a legit comapny works for real?  After happily taking my money, they obviously never had anyone come out to correct the problem they created. So here we are 5 days later and they still are trying to tell me they cant get anyone out until two days from now. What the heck do i pay them for? obviously to not fix problems, but to make problems happen.  So i cant watch tv for days, I pay extra for "so called" maintenence, and the maintenence was never needed if they didnt mess with my dish in the first place. Now they keep trying to tell me it might be the box and want to change it, obviously so that they can now control my box as well, when direct tv told me the boxes are fine. This is the biggest ripp off ever! and has caused me a week of un-needed headaches and calls which actually i am paying for. Bottom line i am lterally paying them not just for nothing but to be inconvinienced as well.

I too moved about a year ago to W Colter in Phoenix. Direct TV assured me prior to moving that I qualified for their free move offer of free installation and free DVR upgrade. Consolidated Smart Systems charged me well over 200.00 for these free services. They are a member of the BBB listed as their Gardena Ca. office and their primary business is laundry. I filed a complaint and eventually received a small , very small refund from them although they still refuse to document the charges. They also agreed to stop the access fee which in Boston is called extortion. They still billed me after that for what I call the "Guido"  fee but their billing somehow comes from Multiband,9449 Science Center Drive, New Hope,MN 55428. 1-866 954-3434 and appear to call the shots. They have agreed once again to drop the protection plan which they have repeatedly refused to produce in writing. And have stated does not exist in written form. This is rented equipment,they want you to pay protection on their equipment. The BBB and Multiband have been a voice of reason in this mess while dealing with a laundry service. I wasn't aware they also tampered with the equipment to produce revenue but I put nothing past them. Hopefully a soft disconnect is not also in my future.
