Consumer Auto Rewards COMPLETE SCAM TAMPA Florida
This company called me and said they were calling from my Capital One Visa Card. They never mentioned that they were really calling from "Consumer Auto Rewards" once. And that I would receive a $100. gift card in the mail if I looked at some rewards material. I could cancel within 10 days at no charge and keep the gift card.
Well, 2 WEEKS later I rec'd a small envelope from the company (backed dated), "Consumer Auto Rewards". Along with a $100 retail rebates coupon, NOT a gift card. Everything they said to me on the phone 2wks ago was a complete LIE.
The company closes at 3 pm West Coast time. It was too late in the day for me to call to cancel. NOTHING in the envelope even closely resembled what they told me I would recieve over the phone. I went to their website to contact them via email to cancel. I sent them an email to cancel, but it WAS RETURNED because their mail box was unavailable! What a scam!
I called my credit card company and they advised me to block the acct. Which I did. I wouldn't want these dirt bags getting one cent. I now have to report that credit card lost or stolen because Capital One told me they never gave my info to this company.
HANG UP ON ANYONE CALLING YOU THAT EVEN REMOTELY DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT.
