When I allowed CCCS to manage my debt I had perfect credit. Never was late and no negative remarks. Because I had no problems some of my credtors will not allow my accounts to enter a program used for organizations like CCCS. To get the creditors to accept me ito their program CCCS just stopped making the payments even though I was paying CCCS every month.

CCCS got my creditors to accept me into one of their programs buy not paying them according to the agreed upon payment plan. This pratice although successful ruined my credit. After 45 days my telephone started ringing. The calls were from from collection departments. CCCCS told me to explain that my bills were being handeled by them. The end result was that my credit record was ruined and most companies that had extended credit on my behalf started raising my intrest rate because of my (then) poor payment record.

Did you or did you not sign the papers?

Did you or did you not sign the papers in order to have CCCS take over your payment to your creditors? Were you forced to sign the papers? I think NOT! People that complain about being ripped off by a company that is trying to help them get their life back together by dropping APR % rates for their bad, and almost always non paid for debit, is why this country is in the condition it is in. You knew when you went to the CCCS that they would help you. You did not have to sign the papers nor did you have to pay them the fees. Yes, they do need to charge fees, but that is how they pay for their employees to sit and call the companies, write letters, contact creditors, and send out statements to the people they are helping. This sservice was free not quite ten years ago, but they do have to charge now, because sending money electronically to creditors cost money! They are a non profit organization, that is serviced by people who need help with the credit card companies that have raised their rates to crazy % rates up to 29.9%! These creditors charge up to $40.00 for a payment that is hours late, charge a $35.00 overcredit limit charge even tho your late and they know you can't pay and who will not talk to anyone that is not the debitor even tho they have sent in a power of attorney several times and contacted the company. Who is the problem here? The CCCS that is trying to help you? Or these credit card companies? You were the one that went into their (CCCS) office, took your bills and signed the papers. Am I right? If you needed to file bankruptcy, and really ruin your credit, why didn't you?

As the original reporter stated, CCCS is deceptively marketed.

#3Consumer Suggestion

The reason someone with perfect credit would join a CCCS is because they were tricked. CCCS advertising implies that they will lower APR's which will allow the client to pay off the debt faster. This sounds like a good deal to someone who is current on payments, but is realizing that they won't ever be able to retire the debt if they can only afford the current minimum payments. What the CCCS doesn't make clear to prospective clients is that their credit rating will be damaged. Also they can't guarantee any results. Most creditors will not grant a hardship APR to someone who is current on payments. Thus the CCCS will intentionally delay payments to improve their negotiating position. If the client's credit rating was good before, late payments will severly damage it. Also most creditors will report that the account is in a CCCS program. This is also a very negative thing to have on one's credit report. CCCS will also almost always take considerable fees ("mandatory donations"), which usually aren't clearly disclosed in advertising. It is in the consumer's best interest to pay as much as possible toward the debts, rather than to a third party. Many consumers with serious debt problems would be better off filing bankruptcy. The CCCS concept was founded by creditors as a way to talk consumers out of going bankrupt and keep money coming in to creditors. They are doing the same thing that collection agencies do, only they pretend to be on the consumer's side. The CCCS wants to sign up as many clients as possible, so they can collect fees both from the consumer and the creditors. They do not care if their service is best for anyone's particular situation.

Why did you need to join a CCCS if your Credit was perfect?

I am just wondering Jerome, Why would you need to join a CCCS company if your credit was perfect, you were NEVER late with any payments, you DID NOT have any bad or negative marks and DID NOT have any problems with any of your creditors? This is just a simple question? Only people that have problems with their finances join these helpful credit programs. What did you want them to do for you if you did not have any problems to start with? Sounds like a strange report to me. I have been with the CCCS for almost 2 years now and they have not only helped me with getting the creditors paid, quieted and happy, they have changed my life and millions of others who have problems with their lives! Why on earth would someone with PERFECT Credit join them? You sound like your just mad about something and have revenge in your heart and want to blame them for something. Sound about right?
