I bought a TV online. They have an extended warranty they offer thru CPS. It states, and still does, that they have a no hassle policy and take care of shipping. I bought a 5 year warranty. 2 1/2 years latter, mt Sony Bravia goes dead. It would cost more to fix than replace. CPS gives me three options. 1. send it to them and they will send me a re-built tv with only a 90 day warrant and then nothing. 2. send them the TV and they will give me $1299. Sound good! until I find that it will cost ME $400 to send it to them and if it is damaged, I get nothing. No one will insure a used TV. I've tried. From Illinois to NY is $400. Now my re-inbursement is $899. Hows that for them taking care of shipping. 3. keep my broken TV and salvage it here for $200 and they will send me $699 as a settelment. What should have been a fair settelment turned into a nightmare. Try talking to them on the phone. They don't care since i'm in Illinois and they are in New York. They say that the add I say that said they "take care of Shipping" Wrong. When I told CPS of the add, they said it was wrong. I mailed them a copy of the add. They say it is wrong . It is still on the TV's web site. The same as whenI told CPS 2 months ago. They say all the right things to get you to buy a warranty. They don't intend to honor it except at a much lower compensation and at their descretion. CPS will never get my business and I hope they don't get yours. Feel free to contact me if any questions.
