On February 4, 2005, I signed up via an email link to get a free Mac Mini from ConsumerIncentivePromotions. I was required to complete six of their sponsor offers (two from each of three pages), which I promptly did. Next I was required to print out, complete and send in a "security verification form." I mailed the form to them on February 9, 2005, and by February 14, 2005, the status page at consumerincentivepromotions.com/redeem.htm stated the following:

"Current Status: Fullfillment in Progress

Our records indicate that you have qualified for a Apple Mac Mini and you have completed the Security Verification Process.

We have received and processed your Gift Redemption Voucher, and a Shipping Request has been issued.

Sometimes it can take a few weeks for the Fulfillment Center to assemble, package, and ship a gift after the Shipping Request has been sent.

We appreciate your patience. Your gift should arrive soon."

Well, so much for it arriving soon. Here I sit almost two months later with nothing. I have repeatedly emailed ConsumerIncentivePromotions asking if they have an actual status rather than the generic message above, and I have been told multiple times to check the same status page, which I clearly told them I had gotten the message above from. Three phone calls have gotten me no response either. The last email response I received said, "We are looking into it." That was a week ago.

Needless to say I am feeling like this whole thing is a scam. My brother-in-law also signed up. His status page shows that two offers have been completed on each page, but he cannot even access the security verfication form to mail in.

I will try to be patient a little while longer, but I feel that at this point I have been ignored by ConsumerIncentivePromotions long enough.

Mac Mini received

Well, at long last on April 15 I received my Mac Mini. Maybe my persistence paid off as the last email they sent was followed a couple of days later by a shipping email with a tracking number. If you sign up for this promotion, just be prepared to wait longer than the 4-6 weeks they speak about in their "terms and conditions," and, when in doubt, just start sending those emails.

I just received my Mac Mini today

Hi, I can at least tell you that this is not a scam, as I just received my Mac Mini today. It came about 6-8 weeks after I had finished all my offers. I'm not really sure of the exact amount of time, didn't really keep track. I'm sorry to hear you're having all this trouble though, I did not have to call them or anything, but I did send a few "e-mails" their way, or whatever they call that response form business. Keep at it, I'm sure you'll get it soon!
