A representative from Continental Advantage called me in April of 2002. He said I was eligible for a MasterCard with a $2,000 credit limit. He assured me that I would receive the Master Card in 2 weeks.

A fee of $199 was required to receive the MasterCard.

About 4 weeks later I received a catalog and a Platinum Express Card to make purchases from the catalog. A postcard came with the packages stating I would receive the MasterCard in 21 days.

In order to receive the MasterCard I was told to enroll in Continental Advantage Care and to send in a processing fee $39.00 first month and a $20.00 registration fee.

I was asked to send a voided check for monthly electronic renewal of membership $39.00 per month.

When I finally received the MasterCard in June 2002 it was a debit ChexCard with no funds in the account not a credit card.

In order to cancel my membership I had to do it in writing. I submitted a letter of cancellation in August 2002 and Continental Advantage didn't honor my request. They tried to debit my account in September for $78.00.

I was lied to and would like my payments that I made to Continental Advantages returned to me.

Original report dated 9/27/2002 This is not our Company. Complaint should be directed to Platinum Express. Continental Advantage Care has never, in our 12 year history operated a telemarketing room we do not solicit customers via outbound calls. We do not, nor have we ever used an EFT or an ACH program to take funds from Individuals bank accounts. We do not handle or market secure or unsecured Master Cards with credit lines. These would have to be issued by a bank. We have never given Platinum Express authority to use our name in marketing their program. Any Report should be directed to company that the customer bought their original package from, Platinum Express. Continental did not receive the $ 199, or any money from this customer. Continental Advantage Care, since 2001 has been marketing Discount Health Care programs. Our sister company Continental Advantage is a catalog mail order company that offers a credit line for their catalog purchasers. The only monthly statement or fees we bill customers for are the payments on merchandise they have purchased from our catalogs. We have no control or power over any of our licensed dealers who purchase our services on a wholesale basis and resell to their vendors or contract to include the Continental services in a package of products that are sold to the public by their vendors. We are not responsible for and cannot make refunds to people that we have not sold or collected money from. We are sorry for this persons bad experience with the platinum express company, and wish them the best in their seeking a refund from this firm. Norma Carter Service Manager
