Here is EXACTLY what the BBB said in their official "case closed" letter: "the BBB reviewed the dispute and determined the business had kept the contract terms and that the dispute was not eligible for BBB complaint handling. The case was formally closed at that time." And in response to Ms. VanValkenburgh's claim that the BBB did not find her complain invalid, this is what the BBB actually said: "[Ms. VanValkenburgh]... did not fulfill the terms of the contract so that the business could complete the work." As we stated before, Ms. Van Valkenburgh engaged our firm and we did the work required by the agreement. Ms. Van Valkenburgh then changed her mind about what she wanted us to do. We tried to do additional work to satisfy her, but after several months of effort we ultimately felt her demands were unreasonable. Ms. Van Valkenburgh recently submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau making the same claims she makes on this web site. Ray Edwards International, Inc. is a member of the BBB in good standing, and we cooperated fully with the BBB's investigation. After review, the BBB determined that Ray Edwards International, Inc. complied with the terms of its agreement with Ms. Van Valkenburgh. Although she asked for the BBB's review and has had every opportunity to air her grievances with them, Ms. Van Valkenburgh refuses to accept the BBB's decision. We regret that she is still unhappy, but we consider the matter closed.

The BBB never said that my dispute with Ray Edwards was invalid. They concluded that we could not reach an agreement (unless one of us compromised) and therefore the closed the case. They encouraged me to seek other legal avenues. Mr. Edwards final offer was $2000 (less than half of what I originally paid him) if I agreed to sign his four-page settlement agreement and release that would hold him legally blameless for what happened. When I looked at the agreement, Mr. Edwards included a clause that would make me financially responsible for any future litigation regarding our dispute. The clause said that I would be financially responsible for Mr. Edwards' attorney's fees, paralegal fees, and any other professional fees. In other words, if Mr. Edwards decided to sue me in the future, I'd be legally responsible to pay for everything. My lawyer recommended that this clause be removed before I sign the agreement. However, Mr. Edwards refused to remove the clause. He refused to work out a compromise that both sides would be happy with. My only option was to sign the agreement as is or get nothing. In the end, I got nothing. Later, I attempted to file a claim against Mr. Edwards Error and Omissions Insurance. However, he refused to give me the information that I needed to file a claim. This has been a stressful and time consuming ordeal. I've paid Ray Edwards $6000. and have nothing to show for it. It is a lot of money for an independent business woman. I relied on Mr. Edwards to revamp my website. Instead of generating revenue, I lost my hard-earned money for a change of phrase and opening paragraph. After trying to salvage this inadequate work product, I was told that Mr. Edwards would not refund my money. I continued to resolve this situation with no substantial relief from my regulatory authorities. Finally, after months of trying to convince Mr. Edwards to make good on the breach of contract, he offered me $2000 to make me go away. His actions have placed a severe strain on my family. The sheer amount of time that I have spent trying to resolve this matter has put an undue burden on me, my husband and two young boys. It appears that my only option now is to hire an attorney and take him to court.

Made sure every week I was under 30 hours to ensure I would not qualify for benefits. He was a piece of work the term "D-Bag" comes to mind
