Coral Resorts Hilton Head Island, SC Bait and Switch, Deceived, Misled, Scammed and Lied to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Our first mistake was that in Feb 2013 we went to a presentation at Coral Resorts on time share ownership. Our reason for so doing was quite simple and straight forward. We have a dog who loves the ocean and the beach and we wanted a place or places on Hilton Head island where we could come for 3 or 4 days at a time to allow this activity.
We spent time with our salesman (Seth) whose manager (Trey) was also involved and toured the display apartment at Coral Sands. We were specifically told that Coral Sands had 4 apartments on the first floor that were pet friendly since they had tile floors and no carpet. We were also told that RCI had 4 or 5 locations on Hilton Head that were also pet friendly. Since this was our only need or desire, as explained to our salesman in agonizing detail, we bought the time share on the spot.
Now it is really interesting that RCI explains to us that there are no RCI time shares on Hilton Head nor Savannah nor Charleston that are pet friendly. Now I presume that I do not have to go further with respect to dishonesty or deceit. Had we been told the truth we would not have purchased the time share.
After some days of trying to make contact with Coral Resorts we finally got a return call from Owner Services in the person of Maureen. We explained our dilemma indicating that we had been lied to and that we wanted a refund of the purchase price. Maureen indicated that THEY could not be helpful in this matter and that her job was to resolve "contract problems" but not ours.
Our recourse now is to get this exercise out to remaining members of the public who have not yet been deceived by Coral Resorts and to contact RCI, the BBB, the SC Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Affairs, Hilton Head Islands Office of Tourism, The Comfort Inn (where Coral Resorts has a representative) and the ARDA.com dealing with code of ethics complaints.
How this organization is allowed to operate this real estate scam with the hundreds of complaints on this and other web sites is beyond comprehension. And further how the employees of Coral resorts can return home in the evening and feel they had a good day at the office is amazing.
