Countryside Custom Builders, INC. - Scott McMillian, President Did not finish contracting job which was already paid for - will not return phone calls - very unethical Tewksbury Massachusetts
Countryside Custom Builders, Inc. was hired to build a deck with a storage room underneath the deck with poured concrete flooring. The key task as outlined in the statement of work was to install a rain diverting system below the decking to keep concrete floor dry. On the very first day that it rained and the floor was flooded because the drainage system and deck were not properly designed.
This contractor said that his word was his bond - he also said that since he lived in the same town as I did, customer referrals were critical. I have left many phone messages as well as email (which were received) that were never acknowledged. Apparently, his word meant nothing.
The total cost of the project was over $13K. In additional to these costs, I will also incur significant future expenses in an effort to correct this very shoddy work.
The actions of the owner of this company, Scott McMillan, were both unethical and unprofessional.
On a final note, I was referred to this company via Service Magic. Service Magic who has not yet contacted this company in an effort to rectify the situation recommended this company. I do not recommend that the use of Service Magic when trying to located reliable services.
