I was a hurricane Katrina victim and Countrywide was very generous in offering to suspend my payments due to the hurricane damage sustained on my home in New Orleans. I offered to pay and they actually refused my payments as there was a disaster moritorium. I stayed in contact with them once to twice every month and even worked with a special "work out" disaster group. The next thing I know these great patriots wanted all the back payments at once or threatened to forclose on my property. (NICE!!)I was strung along and I still am being strung along stating that they will be sending me a workout package to refinance and get everything back in order. I have still yet to see the package but continue to receive the forclosure threats. They keep sending me these mailouts of how much equity I have in my house and that I can refinanace at any time. When I ask them about these they stated that they were generic mailers, but they have my house address on them and they have followed me to my registerd address in Arkansas. More lies. I don't know what to do at this point. They all use generic names on the phone so you can never get the same person on the phone. They are horrible and un-simpathetic

We ended up having to hire an Attorney, and it is very obvious that Countrywide is not even intimidated by that. They still have yet to straiten out our payment mess that they created. I think when I contact this Attorney in the morning I am just going to have to have him file suit against Countrywide and push this to get the State and Federal Govt. involved.

Anyone who has a Home Loan with this company needs to leave them and use a company that isn't so corrupt they are one of the VA's favorite companies along with Washinton Mutual. We need to get the Government to put a tighter rein an these companies and get some control over them. We may have to protest and Boycot all of these companie because our Government doesn't care about us. Lets put a stop to their corruption. I'm not sure a lawsuit will do much good we need to go to extremes to stop them.

Richard, Countrywide will never admitt that they are wrong. Our foreclosure is "in review" and the longer they take the farther we get behind, which means the more we are going to owe. Get a Lawyer! Maybe it's time for a class action suit?? Good Luck!! Tammie Palm Bay, FL

Dear Myranda in Fort Worth, Thanks for the info., but, I have been dealing with the OOP. They seem to be more concerned with masking or covering up their mistakes instead of resolving them. But Thank you my dear, Richard

Richard-- With all this information that you have at hand I would ask to speak with the (OOP)Office of the President...Yes, they actually have one and they are very quick in resolving problems and correcting matters like these... When you contact Countrywide just make sure you ask to speak with the OOP...They have a direct line to the office and sometimes they will transfer the call. Also, try using the website...Countrywide has a great website set up for their homeowners to view information...Possibly might be able to send an email to the OOP and get something resolved that way instead of calling Countrywide. http://my.countrywide.com/
