Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In December when they issued my new escrow statement they had charged me for my insurance policy that I had with Security First (because they failed to pay it on time) and then charged me for a force placed policy as well which increased my mortgage payment by about $200.00 per month. I wrote them 3 letters and place a phone call to them with no satisfaction. I finally called my agent to make sure that my policy was in place and in effect and then I faxed a copy of the policy with a letter to them and gave them 10 business days to correct the escrow account and remove the forced place policy from my property and they still have not responded. In the meantime they have returned my mortgage payment from March to me and I sent it back to them with a threat to obtain an attorney if they do not correct it and if it has any negative impact on my credit or late fees attached to my account. They are the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with and they don't care about your account or issues. I had to argue with them on the phone and try to explain to them that paying my escrowed taxes and insurance was their responsibility. They kept telling me that I cancelled my insurance policy and then it went to they did not receive the bill for my insurance. It is just one excuse after another. I feel like I am fighting a battle with them that I will never win because they don't listen or care. This is not even a case of me not paying my mortgage it is their incompetence that is the issue and what seems to be an easy fix to me has become something that could cause them to ruin my credit and/or eventually start foreclosure procedures. This is outrageous!!! Please help...I am willing to join a class action suit against this company if anyone is interested.

Insurance Escrow Scam

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, April 16, 2008

As a long time former employee with management duties, I can confirm your case. I dealt with numerous consumer complaints similiar to yours. I personally had my loan with Countrywide and on 2 seperate occasions where my taxes and insurance were escrowed they failed to pay on time and force placed their own insurance at a substantial cost to me. If you look at their quarterly earnings you will see the insurance division known as balboa has increased earnings year over year. As a manager within the company I made a formal complaint to the office of the president, only to be told it was my fault and I must prove otherwise. Once I proved my case, I never heard back. I know that there is a large number of consumers who were either cancelled or charged huge premiums as a result of their fraudulant practices and encourage a class action law suit.
