Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have filed a formal complaint wuth the PA Attorney Generals office. I have also sent a letter to the FBI, as they too are investigating them. My home loan was originally bought by Countrywide from Ameriquest. This is the home where I grew up, I am a single parent & have raised my son here,so this is more than a house, it is ny home. A few years ago,Countrywide pursued me to refinance, via phone, mail and email. They stated I had over $24,000 in equity, why not refinance & do some home improvements. They also stated that they had no application fee, no appraisal fee, no closing costs, etc. They finanally convinced me to take advantage of this "good deal?????".My intent was to only refinance getting only $5000 of my equity to install new windows in my home, In PA, it is cold, and I wanted to conserve energy, save on fule bills as well as improve my homes investment. They sent me a full set of papers stating my payment amount, etc. Well. when closing time came, they sent a notary to my place of employment, with a completely different set of papers!!! I was shocked! I asked the notary what happened, he said he was only a courier they hire to get the papers signed!! Well, not being mortgage smart, and being an honest Christian person, I felt sure this was some sort of error that Countrywide would make right. Not being in a private setting, and be trusting, I signed Under Duress!!! I immediately began the phone calls and letters to Countrywide, and got passed around from one person to another, one phone # to another, and on and on. Yhe payments were much higher than the original documents said, in fact I have 3 sets of legal home loan documents which none of the 3 sets match!!! Prior to that, I had no late payments.

Eventually,I had to take care of an ill family member. I tried to work with Countrywide, who refused! At which time, they tried to foreclose on me!! One of the times I spoke to a Brian Keller (couldnt tell you from which office, as you never know where you are calling, or even if that is the persons real name) who told me I would have to borrow $150,000?? Now if I was having problems with the payments on $85,00, why would I borrow $150,000? It didnt make any sense! I enlisted the help of a local legal aid atty., who, while she couldnt help me, she did try to contact them, and agreed with that me that there was absolutely no continuity of having one person for which I could work with! I finally had to pay a private attorney to get me out of foreclosure, but it cost me another $10,000!!!! Not to mention, a $600 title search fee and atty.fees!!! I continued from day one of signing that loan, until now, to try to work with Countrywide. I have saved copies of every letter I faxed, emailed and mailed to them. Never once did they have the decency to explain what or why they did this to me, Actually used up all of my home eqyuity in finance fees? When they advertised there were none to begin with? This is known as "bait and switych" none the less, both attorneys and several bankers said I was definitely a victim of preditory lending. Not having the funds to pay a private atty., they suggested I file a complaint with the PA Atty.Generals Office, which I did. At this point, I do not know what the status is. BUT, I do know there are several states that have filed class action suits against Countrywide.

Unfortunately, PA has not had enough complaints...(yet) to file a class action suit! It is my intent to deliver my message thru any and all means I can! Not only could I lose my home, but this has me so upset it has affected my health to where I am now under a doctors care for migraine headaches, depression and nerves, I also see a therapist weekly!! Also, mu son, who is a good honest Christian boy, is graduating this year and was accepted into Penn State, where he wants to become a school teacher. He is eligible for some funding, but not near what I need to send him . How in the world can I send this well deserving teen to school on my income, living from pay to pay?? I have worked hard and paid taxes for over 36 years. Did I deserve this? No!!! I was stolen from! If I had stole, I know I would be made to pay restitution to my victim as well as face the legal concequences! Well< I certainly hope and pray my government that protects these big business giants can do somthing to protect the small, hard working, tax paying, voting consumers from whom they are paid to protect!!!! If any other PA consumers had any unfair dealings with Countrywide, I urge you to contact the PA office of Attorney General. They have a web-site you can report on, also a fax #814-863-6555. Lets pull together and give these bad guys what they deserve!!!!!
