Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My son is in the military and had recently moved to LA.  His household goods were set to be delivered NLT the RDD of 8/10/18.  He had prepaid vacation time planned and paid for since he had recently returned from Afghanistan.

We were in contact with the moving representative from the date that we received the info and GBL.  I am POA for my son and my husband and I were Agents of record through the military for his relocations if he is not available.

The company would not give us a good date so I was calling every day for updates.  We live 2 days away by car and if they were not going to make RDD, then my husband was going to have to rent a car and drive there.

They knew this since I had told them and the government transportation people.  They knew he was going to drive, rent a car and need hotel going and returning if they did not meet obligations.  They never told us that you were eligible for inconvenience fees since it would be their fault.

When it was obvious that they would not make date which was finally stated as last day of RDD, we knew it was probably not going to happen.  I contacted the government transportation group and told them.

By that time, the date had been pushed 3 days later.  My husband immediately ordered a car to leave next day.  The government office contacted TSO by email and told them they were in inconvenience fee phase and they were responsible.  By that time, we were getting everything in writing.

There was a long string of emails and issues but they ended up 5 days late.  My husband had to waste 5 days vacation time and two full weekends at home to deal with this.  We ended up with about $950 in hotels, gas, car etc.

Covan started making noises about only paying local stuff which we had never been told but they knew that my husband had to drive, take his vacation, etc.  When I filed the claim and dispute local claim issue, they pushed it to legal and came back and said they were not liable for receiving agents.

They offered $313 as goodwill gesture.  I disputed again that we were his legal rep to stand in for them and they blew it off with same crappy offer.

I have turned it over to military SDDC but not sure what will happen.

They also told us in emails several times that they were late because they did not have a driver and were adding on multiple loads along the way and pushing it back instead of meeting their obligations.

I have seen many bad reviews from military personnel and that this company had been charged by Dept of Justice in 2015 for cheating on weighing loads and were fined a great deal of money.
