On October 28, 2009 I went to the Madewell Cricket store and purchased a Cricket Broadband for the reason; there was no contract and one free month of  broadband and only the price of forty dollars a month. My thought was, I could save that much money ,just by  paying my bills on-line.

The purchase of the Cricket wireless was $79.99 and $25.66 connection fee with tax a total of $112.57. Okay, even with those up front fees I could still see future savings.

December, I attempted to pay my bill on-line. That's when the heart burn began...I called the 800 #(advise, always use your land line when calling.) I finally gave up and went into Madewell's and paid the fee of $3.00 cash, they don't take checks. I asked the clerk how do I set-up the "outlook express" He told me to call the 800#.(no service.) I should of seen the red flag!

January 2010, I get on-line to pay my bill of $40.57. My account balance is showing a balance of $84.XX. I call the 800 #, after much run-around and was told my account is messed up and the last payment was credited to anothers account. Whoa... The person with broken english told me he would call me back in one hour. That was a joke! I called back, again finally after no service there and using 90 of my AT&T minutes I gave up.

I go to the Madewell store and told my frustration and was told he would have his supervisor straighten the matter out and call him back 10 am tomorrow.

The next morning I get on-line to find there had been no changes to my account they still were billing me for $84.xx. I called the store as instructed and was told to come in and pay $20.00 to keep from getting the broadband disconnected. The receipt was for $17.00 and $3.00 for the processing.

An employee (Nick) calls to tell me it's resolved and come in and pay $21.XX.

The next day I go in and a very rude and obnoxious female told me she had heard my story and didn't need to hear it again. She proceeded to tell me I owed $27.14 balance. When I questioned the charges she told me it wasn't them it was Cricket. I told her I would go home and pay it online she said no you can't because it isn't set up for payment. Okay, so I have paid $47.14 for a month of $40.00 Broadband. But, my on-line account shows my balance $61.xx.I am looking for next month to be the same heart burn.

I also bought a broadband and after a short time it stopped working.  I called their customer service and all I got was a recording then it hangs up.  I was never able to talk to anyone.  I went back to the Cricket Store where I purchased it and all of a sudden no one spoke english.

I just got off the phone with Crooked oops, I mean Cricket.  I have had nothing but problems with my modem since I created this account in January.  I have complained about the very slow connection, only to be told that is typical of Cricket's broadband service.

I was told on two occasions that someone from "Escalated tech support" would call me to solve this problem.  No call.  However, Cricket can call me and bug me about a payment or lose the service.  I have called and asked for a credit only to be denied on several occasions.

Today 3/20/2010 I filed a FCC complaint online, called Cricket and told the billing department supervisor that I have filed the complaint with the FCC and demanded that the complaint number is added to my account.

The supervisor said that he will send an email blast and have someone to contact me.  He apologized for the problems and that I have been calling since January about this problem and that he is sadden that the staff has not tried to solve the problem.  Yeah, right.

I suggest that you file a complaint with the FCC and also reference my complaint # 10-C00205086 so that the FCC know there is another complaint regarding this falsely advertised issue.

BTW, do you know how slow my broadband modem is?  I am downloading a 311K file and it says 2 days, 4 hours remaining for the download to finish.

Good luck.
