Marcus McNac was hired to do a kitchen remodel for us after a water leak occurred. He took months and gave excuse after excuse on why the work was being delayed. He requested 1/2 of the estimate up front and then additional $1500 for doors to be made after he install the bottom boxes. He installed only bottom cabinets with no doors or shelving.
He would say he was going to show on certain days and then never showed up and never called. After getting a hold of him, we demanded all materials, including doors, to be brought to us. He had someone dump cabinets in our driveway when we were not at home. We never recovered the doors we paid for. The top cabinets were crap and didn’t even use the same wood as bottom cabinets.
Cabinets were supposed to be solid Oak and were a mix of Oak and Birch. The corner cabinet was not made correctly and had to be redone and was still not done right. The kitchen sink was not centered and we didn’t catch that until granite had already been laid. He stole $6000 and we had to hire another cabinet maker to redo all top cabinets, redo stain on all cabinets, fix problems and shoddy work on the bottom cabinets. He never came to remeasure anything after the initial measurements.
He was very disorganized and had a strong smell of alcohol on him. He is a crook. We sought legal advice and found through background check that he ownes nothing we could sue him for and attach a lien to. He has now dropped out of site and no one can find him. We will be filing a small claims suit against him in Hays County.
